This is your 30 minute warning!
Okay we understand that ‘Home Alone 2: Lost In New York’ is incredibly close to the soaps which on Christmas are a massive hit packed with drama.
However how could we not highlight this Christmas classic where a young Macaulay Culkin is once again left alone at Christmas.
In the first ‘Home Alone’ movie we witnessed as Kevin (MacCaulay Culkin) is left at home by his parents (by accident of course) as the family prepare to go on holiday for Christmas.
‘Home Alone 2: Lost In New York’ however shows Kevin getting as far as the airport with his parents before being split up from his entire family.
The reason? He was changing the batteries in his voice recorder toy and ends up chasing another man wearing a similar coat to his Dad.
His family are heading to Miami without him while Kevin ends up in New York City all alone – or so he thinks.
Kevin bumps into the ‘Wet Bandits’ who he defeated in the first movie as they tried to break into his house. They’re not happy though and they want revenge.
Booking himself into the Plaza Hotel on his Dads credit card Kevin seems to be living a life of luxury until things start to go wrong and the hotel staff begin to suspect his parents are nowhere to be found.
So while escaping the hotel staff and trying to keep the Wet Bandits (played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern) at bay Kevin heads to a family home in the city.
Here is where Kevin has fun – for us, not him – as he sets up numerous traps to keep the robbers at arms length.
We won’t say anymore, we’ll assume you’ve seen it before – who hasn’t? Though it’s definitely worth a watch, if not it’s worth sticking on record for viewing later if your soaps are just too important!
