City Lights: Howie Suspects Pauline Of Having An Affair
Howie (Mark Benton) suspects Pauline (Sian Reeves) is having an affair – he’s even discovered a box of matches from a hotel in her handbag – but Colin is adamant it’s all in his imagination. Meanwhile Pauline confesses to Jackie (Nicola Stephenson) that she is involved with someone. A shocked Jackie then finds herself telling Colin ( Robson Green) that Pauline is sleeping with someone else. Colin agrees to secrecy.
Sweeney (Paul Ritter) suspects Tate (Nicholas Gleaves) is holding back information so instructs Hatton (Neil Bell) and Gully (Ben McKay) to follow him – resulting in them staking Tate out at his hotel rendezvous with Pauline.
Colin and Howie embark on yet another work adventure – that of garden designers – for the father of Howie’s admirer Cheryl (Sarah Moyle). However the job is cut short when Jackie phones Colin to say that Pauline has done another runner. In a rage Howie puts two and two together, and with Colin in tow, heads to the hotel where Howie hopes to catch Pauline and her lover red handed.
Hatton and Gully cannot believe their eyes when Colin and Howie turn up. A chase ensues, with Colin and Howie managing to alert the police before being beaten, bound and dumped in the back of Gully’s van. The kidnappers drive off into the country, happy with their job well done. However, our two fugitives spot a moment to escape and run off. Their rescue seems imminent as they emerge from some woods victorious and flag down an oncoming vehicle. However, the vehicle only stops when Colin and Howie are knocked to the ground. Once again they find themselves in the hands of Hatton and Gully.
