Russell Brand and Coronation Street star Bill Ward will guest star in three gripping new episodes of Cold Blood, joining the regular cast of Jemma Redgrave, John Hannah and Matthew Kelly.
No-one is safe even with Brian Wicklow (Kelly) behind bars. He’s obsessed with DS Eve Granger (Redgrave) and sure that Jake (Hannah) has been helping police crack him and his ‘skills’ as a notorious serial killer.
Pauline Quirke joins the cast as DI Hazel Norton who heads up the detective team, which includes DC Ajay Roychowdury (Ace Bhatti), Phil Davis guest starring as DI Ted Radcliffe, and Tony Slattery as pathologist Dr Callum Molloy.
Brand is Jake’s obsessive stalker, Ally, while Ward will play British Army lieutenant, Paul Attwell.
In Interference, Wicklow has been stabbed, but is his life really in danger or is he playing games? Does he know that Jake has been assisting the team and, if so, could Jake’s life be in danger? The team reopens the case of a young girl found dead in suspicious circumstances. The key suspect at the time was Chris, a boy with learning difficulties, but was Chris guilty of murder or has he been with holding crucial evidence? Nikki Sanderson also guest stars as a key witness at the original trial.
In Dead And Buried the team must find a motive behind a series of suspicious deaths at an Army camp. Jake is called on for an insight into the killer’s mind, but is the motive a little too close to home? Steve John Shepherd also guest stars as Lieutenant Stubbs and Cyril Nri is Colonel Harrington-Smith.
In the third and final episode, The Last Hurrah, Eve must finally face her demons; Jake comes face to face with his long-lost son, and there is a bloody ending as Wicklow plans his ultimate revenge.
