Cold Case Returns

The highly acclaimed police drama Cold Case returns for a fourth series on Sky One this month. From legendary film and TV producer Jerry Bruckheimer (Without A Trace, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) this stylish drama offers an interesting twist on the traditional cop genre.

Kathryn Morris (Minority Report, Paycheck) stars as Lilly Rush, the lone female detective in the Philadelphia homicide squad who finds her niche when she’s assigned to “cold cases,” crimes that have never been solved. Together with her young, strong-willed partner Detective Scotty Valens (Danny Pino, The Shield), Lilly reopens dormant, unsolved homicides that occurred years or even decades ago.

When Rush hits a dead end, she seeks advice from her respected mentor, Lieutenant John Stillman (John Finn, Analyze That), and Detective Will Jeffries (Thom Barry, Rules of Engagement), who has been around long enough to serve as her link to the past. Also on the team are Detective Nick Vera (Jeremy Ratchford, CSI) and relative newcomer Kat Miller (Tracie Thoms, Rent), who is eager to prove herself.

The new series of Cold Case reopens such cases as the disappearance of an Iraqi war veteran, the murder of a promising teenage dancer (guest starring Vanessa Williams, Ugly Betty) and ‘8:03 AM’ and ‘Blood on the Tracks’ two consecutive episodes devoted to the music of U2 and Bob Dylan.

In the series premiere, a video camera discovered by workers renovating a shopping mall offers a harrowing glimpse of the past. In 1995, two teenage boys went on a murderous rampage in the mall, before turning the guns on themselves. The recovered tape suggests there may have been a third shooter and Rush must now piece together the events of that fateful day.

Series Four of Cold Case can be seen on Sky One from Thursday 22nd March at 10.00pm.
