Coming up on EastEnders

On Monday, as Ronnie’s calling Joel, Dawn tells her that the speed dating posters have arrived. Ricky reveals that he’s looking forward to the speed dating event but Bianca laughs at his interest. Dawn, meanwhile, is preparing for her engagement party, however, Ronnie’s friendly nature disappears when Dawn suggests that she bring along a date.
Outside the Minute Mart, Ronnie comes face to face with Archie and tells him that he’s banned from the party that evening. Archie’s dismissive of her and suggests that she’d better get used to him being around and adds that she’s “living in the past”.
Later, Joel wanders into the Vic, much to Ronnie’s delight. He’s confused though when she suggests that they catch up – he thought he was there on business…
As they reminisce, Ronnie invites him to Dawn’s engagement party and, reluctantly, he agrees. At the party, Ryan’s frustrated when he notices Ronnie flirting with Joel. When confronted, Ronnie simply brushes off his remarks, claiming that she and Joel “have a connection”. When Joel leaves, Archie drops in a snide comment that he couldn’t leave quickly enough.
Outside, Ronnie’s about to confess to Joel that she still has feelings for him when a car pulls up beside him to pick him up. Ronnie doesn’t see the female driver who kisses Joel…
Meanwhile, a mystery man startles Heather at the launderette, before heading across to Dot’s. She opens the door and she’s standing face to face with Mr Papadopolous who hands her a present, which visibly upsets her. With her toilet blocked, Dot waits with Dotty in the café for a call from the plumber. Dot, however, is concerned by the potential cost. Returning home, Dot pulls Bradley’s horse winnings from under the sink which she handed him months ago. She looks at the stash, before replacing it. Instead, she resolves to rent her spare room out.

Elsewhere, Janine continues to flirt with Ryan at Dawn’s engagement party and, later she and Bianca come to blows.
Also, Whitney thanks Lauren for not blabbing about her and Ryan stealing Max’s car. Later, the two watch a DVD at Janine’s where they find a stash of booze. As the two become chatty, Whitney starts talking about Tony to Lauren, but Lauren’s dismissive and clearly doesn’t want to talk about him.
Finally, Mo sets up a tarot tent in the Square but she’s got other things to worry about when Brenda gets annoyed by Mo’s ongoing interference. However, when Mo follows Charlie to the summer house and peers through the window, she’s stunned by what she sees…
On Tuesday, Ronnie waits for a message or a call from Joel, but she’s frustrated by his lack of communication. When Billy mentions the speed dating, Ronnie insists that she won’t be joining in, just as Peggy reveals that the company hosting the night has pulled out. Not one to disappoint the locals, Peggy decides to take on the role of event organiser. When Bianca turns up, she’s confused when she hears that her name’s been put down for the event.
Meanwhile, Ronnie confesses her feelings about Joel to Roxy, but, frustrated that her sister’s living in the past, Roxy’s tells her that Joel’s old news.

Later, Bianca learns that Janine signed her up for the speed dating and just as she’s about to leave, Ricky challenges her as to who can score the most dates. While Janine tries to put paid to Bianca’s attempts at flirting, Ricky kicks one of the punters out of the Vic when he makes a pass at Roxy. The youngest Mitchell sister is quietly impressed and they get on surprisingly well when they’re paired up.
At the end of the evening, Janine laughs at Bianca for only having one name written down. As Janine’s thrown out of the pub, Bianca lambastes Ricky for coaxing her into participating and tells him to drop dead. When she looks at the card, though, it shows that he was her only match…
Meanwhile, Bradley asks Dot about her advert for a lodger and suggests that he’s there for the round of interviews. As Dot cleans the house, her first applicant arrives and she’s not impressed in the slightest. Later, while interviewing another prospective tenant, she’s horrified when he makes a pass at her. She immediately slaps him and throws him out. A tarty looking young female also fails to pass Dot’s quality check. By the end of the day though, Dot’s pleased to announce to Bradley that she’s found a new lodger – Liz Turner.
Elsewhere, Mo tells Charlie that she saw him at the summer house causing him to be frustrated at the lack of privacy on the Square. However, he’s cheered up later and even plays his horn for Brenda. But while she’s impressed with his playing, nonetheless, Brenda decides to end things with him. When confronted by Mo about it, Brenda admits that she’s emigrating.
Also, Ian tries to have a relaxing afternoon but it’s interrupted by Liam and Tiffany playing outside. Grouchy Ian responds by taking Liam’s football and popping it. But the joke’s on him later when Ryan phones the café pretending to be a food critic.
Finally, Roxy’s punch has more of a kick than she bargained for and Ryan’s taken aback when Janine mentions Tony’s abuse of Whitney.

On Thursday, as Ronnie stares at Joel’s number in her phone, Roxy walks in bearing good and bad news. She reveals the good news is that Ronnie had eight matches at speed dating, but the bad news is that her card has gone missing. However, Peggy’s made another one and Roxy urges her sister to forget about Joel. Later, Ronnie’s looking at some lingerie in her bedroom and when Roxy questions her about it, she’s dismissive in her response.
Frustrated by Ronnie’s mood, Roxy confronts her and demands to know why her speed dating card was screwed up in the bin. Peggy listens in and is shocked to hear about Joel.

Ronnie admits that she hasn’t told Joel about Danielle and when Roxy points out that rekindling their romance isn’t the answer, Ronnie calls to cancel their meeting. Jack turns up at the Vic to hand over the money for Ronnie’s share of R&R and when he does, he says that she’s not capable of finding another man. Determined to prove him wrong, Ronnie goes to see Joel at his office and they kiss before returning to the Vic. Walking into the bedroom, they find a disgusted Roxy sitting on the bed. When Joel goes to the bathroom, Ronnie sees his wallet and can’t help but take a look. Inside, she finds a picture of his wife and kids. On his return, she feigns ignorance and the pair continue kissing…
Meanwhile, Ricky’s in the café trying to work out who his speed dating matches were. Bianca overhears and tears up her card. Ricky’s frustrated later when Dawn reveals that his card will have been thrown out. Ricky rummages through the bins outside the pub, much to Dawn’s disgust, but when they find his card marked with an ‘M’ and another smudged letter, they’re intrigued. Ricky suspects it’s Peggy and awkwardly confronts her. When Ricky’s later asked by Ronnie if he ‘fancies a fair’, he presumes she means ‘an affair’. Ronnie quickly decides to take the tube, while Ricky realises that his match must’ve been Roxy. He later reveals to Bianca that he has a date with the youngest Mitchell sister.

Elsewhere, Ryan lets a cockroach loose in the café and proceeds to steal all the money that he can find in there. He also tells Whitney that he knows what happened with Tony, prompting Whitney to tell him not to stay in Walford out of pity but because he wants to get to know her.

Also, Charlie’s frustrated by Brenda’s decision to leave him so Mo tells him that Brenda’s emigrating. Later, Brenda meets with Charlie and confesses that she’s moving to Madeira with her brother Clive and his family. Charlie asks her for one final date but as Brenda’s bus pulls away, Charlie runs in front of it and is knocked to the floor, clutching his chest…

On Friday, as Archie walks through the Square with Jack, he asks if everything’s on for later in the day. Jack reassures him that it is and Archie wanders over to the Vic. Inside, he questions Roxy about Joel and Ronnie but Roxy suggests that he leave them alone.
With Archie gone, Roxy asks Ronnie to babysit while she goes on a date with Ricky, but she’s unimpressed when her sister declines. Over at the car lot, Archie announces to a confused Darren and Ricky that he’s their new boss. Feeling betrayed, Darren confronts Jack in the pub and threatens to reveal what he knows about Kevin Wicks’s death. Before leaving, Darren reveals to Ronnie that Archie’s the new owner of the car lot.
Storming across the Square, Ronnie confronts her father, insisting again that nobody wants him in Walford. Later, with Ronnie gone, Archie tells Ricky and Darren that their jobs are safe, before announcing their pay rise and his intention to take the car lot’s business upmarket. At that moment, a man from a crane team enters and says he’s there to move the car lot. Unbeknown to Archie, Ronnie had arranged the crane in the hope it induces a heart attack.
Joel calls and shortly afterwards, Jack hands Ronnie a cheque for her half of R&R and explains that he had to sell the lot to buy her out. Later, outside the Vic, Archie tries to pay off Joel to leave the area. Joel’s taken aback when Archie reveals that he knows about his wife and children. Reluctantly, Joel takes Archie’s money and disappears.

Meanwhile, Ricky prepares for his date with Roxy, while Bianca’s jealousy shines through. In the café, she sets her sights on Dr Al and begins flirting outrageously with him. In the hope of securing a drink with him, Bianca promises him free lattes all week if he meets her in the Vic that night. Al agrees on the condition that they’re no more than friends.
Later, Bianca has a drink with Al, complete with baby monitor as she couldn’t find a babysitter. After a game of darts, Roxy and Al sneak upstairs to check on baby Amy. While upstairs, Roxy points out that Ricky and Bianca still have feelings for each other, while Al suggests that Roxy’s out of Ricky’s league…

Elsewhere, Dot sets down some house rules with Liz and the pair share a friendly gossip in the Vic. Denise, however, is furious to see that Liz is still in Walford and later, when Libby invites her gran and Dot for a meal, Denise tries to sabotage it.

Finally, Charlie returns home from the hospital after suffering a bruised rib and reveals that he’s made a decision; he’s leaving for Madeira with Brenda and her family that night. So, Jean arranges a goodbye meal for Charlie while Stacey gives him her blessing to leave. However, Mo clashes with Brenda during the meal but she’s eventually forced to accept that Charlie’s going when he and Brenda leave in a taxi.
