Coming up on EastEnders

On Monday, James suggests to Christian that he cook a Sunday roast for Ian, Jane, Syed and Amira, but Christian’s not too happy with the idea.
Over at Masala Queen, Masood’s excited about becoming a father again, but Jane’s despondent that she can’t have children. Having told Ian that she wants to look into having a baby, Ian suggests that they discuss it later. Christian’s later shocked when his sister reveals her hopes of expanding the family.
Later at Christian’s, Ian and Jane turn up along with Syed for Sunday lunch. Syed explains that Amira’s out shopping and therefore can’t attend. After a ‘moment’ in the kitchen between Christian and Syed, Christian takes his frustration out on Ian when he makes a negative comment about Zainab having another child “at her age”. Christian calls Ian a thoughtless and selfish man, prompting Ian to reveal that he doesn’t want any more children. Christian also tells James to keep out of his family business.
Feeling humiliated by Ian’s outburst, Jane promptly leaves, just after Syed receives a call from Amira and James warns Christian not to put him down in front of the family again. Christian goes to find Jane in the Square and apologises for what happened at the meal. Later at Masala Queen, Ian assures Jane that she already has a proper family, but Jane says that she still wants a baby who’ll call her mummy from birth.
Christian and Syed catch up with each other near the park, and Syed states that James is a great guy. Christian reminds Syed that James isn’t him, before dragging him through a door into an alleyway. As they talk, someone secretly looks on and their kiss prompts the mystery watcher to slam the door…

Meanwhile, Roxy and Dr Jenkins flirt in the market and he quickly offers to take her on a date later in the day. Roxy’s made up and later, they head to the Argee Bargee. All’s going well until Ronnie, Joel, Sam and Ricky walk in, and Roxy’s not happy in the slightest, especially with Sam’s presence.
But, when Ricky’s taken ill by a curry, and as the meal draws to a close, Joel insists that he pays for everyone. Back at the Vic, Roxy hears her sister’s mobile ringing and when she retrieves it from her handbag, she’s puzzled to find a pregnancy test…

Elsewhere, Libby has second thoughts about going to Oxford but Adam allays her fears and eventually, she agrees she’ll go to uni.
Also, Liam’s suspicious of Ryan’s actions when he sees him handing over cash to a stranger in a white van. He confronts Ryan about what he’s up to and the pair soon find themselves bonding.
Finally, Heather spots an advert for a Children in Need charity dancing competition and tries to convince Patrick to take part. He’s not keen but eventually, he reluctantly agrees and the hunt is on to find him a dancing partner.
On Tuesday, after morning prayers, Syed panics when Zainab tells him that she’s ashamed of him and that he should start taking responsibility for his actions. Syed presumes that she knows about his secret affair with Christian and he begins to apologise. Zainab then suggests that next time he can’t make it to one of Bushra’s meals, he should call to say he can’t make it. The doorbell then goes and Zainab lets a devastated James into the house. James reveals that he and Christian have split up.

Outside in the Square, James questions Syed over why Christian ended their relationship, but Syed feigns ignorance. With that, Syed heads over to see Christian for some answers himself. Christian admits that he ended things with James so he could be with Syed, and deep down, knows he’s pleased.
Christian goes on to remind Syed that when they’re together, it’s special. Syed, however, insists that it’ll never just be the two of them as “God will always know”. Later, Syed arranges to meet Imam Ali in the park to talk about his troubles.

Syed admits that he’s been having “thoughts” and “feelings for someone else” and after further interrogation, Syed confesses that he’s in love with a non-Muslim man. The Imam tells Syed that his feelings are wrong, and suggests that he pray, but Syed explains how many other gay Muslims have been accepted by Allah. Before leaving, the Imam agrees to keep his confession a secret to avoid “bringing shame” to the Masood family.
Meanwhile, Roxy finds an empty pregnancy test box in Ronnie’s make-up bag. When Roxy questions her sister, Ronnie claims that there’s nothing wrong and feigns ignorance. Later, Ronnie’s preparing a meal for Joel’s birthday, and his daughters will be joining them too.
When Joel arrives, Roxy reveals Joel’s birthday cake, adorned with his name, but his daughter Hannah isn’t impressed as it’s her birthday, too. Later, Ronnie tries to make amends with Hannah and offers her a birthday present, but she won’t be placated. In the kitchen, Ronnie tries to explain herself to Hannah and reveals all about Danielle. Ronnie, however, only manages to upset the youngster.

When Joel leaves with his daughter, Roxy confronts Ronnie about the pregnancy tests. Ronnie explains that they were negative, but Roxy realises that Joel doesn’t know about the baby plans. Stating that Joel has a right to know, Roxy issues an ultimatum; either Ronnie tells him the truth, or she will.

Elsewhere, Denise accuses Zainab of reporting her to the police when she finds DC Cunningham’s business card in the Masala Queen office, however, Denise soon realises that it was Ian who tipped off the police. However, later, the police inform Denise that Trina’s death is being treated as accidental, which is news that pleases Lucas. Meanwhile, Jordan’s frustrated that he can’t find Trina’s bracelet in her belongings.
Also, Stacey’s not happy to find that Ryan’s taken her pitch on the market and when Jean tries to talk to Stacey about a hospital appointment letter that she found in the bin, Jean finds Stacey in the Vic, sketching a pair of eyes while watching Ryan.

And Amira’s disturbed when Syed gives her an aggressive hug, so she accuses him of trying to sleep with her. Later, Syed tells Christian that he wants to keep on seeing him, but won’t end things with Amira.
Finally, Heather convinces Pat to dance with Patrick for charity.

On Thursday, still frustrated that he can’t find Trina’s bracelet, Jordan asks to be taken to the funeral home to see if his mother’s still wearing it. Eying the model boat that he hid the bracelet in, Lucas promises to call the undertaker to find out for him. Before Lucas has a chance, though, Jordan reveals that he’s been on the phone to them and has arranged a visit himself, causing Lucas to panic.
Later, Lucas locks himself in the dining room and carefully extracts Trina’s bracelet and a cloth from the hull of Jordan’s replica boat, before placing it in a rucksack. With the bracelet on his person, Lucas takes Jordan to the funeral home on the condition that his son stays in the car. While there, Lucas asks if he can see his wife’s body but the undertaker declines as the coffin’s already been sealed and can no longer be opened.

Back at home, Lucas lies to his son that Trina was wearing the bracelet but he’s momentarily stumped when Jordan quizzes him as to which wrist she had it on. Lucas correctly guesses and appeases Jordan’s curiosity. Jordan then asks his father to say something at Trina’s funeral.
Over lunch, Libby reveals that she’s run out of bags to pack her university belongings in and Denise says that Lucas has a rucksack she could use. Remembering that the bracelet’s still inside, Lucas agrees she can have it, but only after he’s emptied it. With the rest of the family on their way to the pub, a flustered Lucas tips the rucksack upside down and the bracelet falls out – just as Chelsea walks in. Puzzled, she demands an explanation…
Meanwhile, Roxy finds Ronnie in the café and asks if she’s told Joel about her baby plans. Ronnie insists that she’s tried but the right time hasn’t presented itself. Roxy reminds her sister about her ultimatum, but Ronnie doesn’t seem to care and tells her sister to ruin her relationship if she wants to.

Later, Roxy summons Christian to the café and asks for his advice on the situation. Christian, however, suggests that she keep her nose out. Roxy then heads home where a frustrated Peggy returns, having failed in her mission to track down Boris Johnson. It’s not long, though, before Boris wanders in for a pint.
Having told Sam about Ronnie’s baby plans, Roxy meets Ronnie in the park and agrees to keep out of her business, so long as she knows what she’s doing.

Elsewhere, Syed gives Amira some cash to buy a new dress and manages to patch things up with her. Later, Christian and Syed agree that they can be seen in public together, but only as friends.

Meanwhile, Jean’s suspicious when Stacey tells her that she’s already been to the doctor. Later, Stacey panics when she sees Ryan in the Vic and as she runs out, Ryan chases her through the Square and bursts into the Slaters, prompting Stacey to scream at him to leave and threaten to call the police. Jean now realises that Stacey was lying about going to see Dr Jenkins, and is even more worried when she returns home to Stacey who tells her that Ryan killed Trina.

Also, Pat and Patrick practice their dancing at Dot’s, much to Liz’s dismay. Jim suggests to Pat that Liz has a crush on Patrick so Pat suggests that Liz take her place as Patrick’s dance partner.
On Friday, in the early hours of the morning, Lucas talks to Chelsea about her discovery of Trina’s bracelet in the house. Chelsea thinks that Denise should know, but Lucas is adamant that they should keep the news between themselves and lies that he found it Denise’s handbag. Lucas insists that they’re burying Trina, and they should bury the past with her.

A few hours later, Lucas is flummoxed when Chelsea reveals that the pastor who was booked to conduct Trina’s funeral is ill, and she’s agreed that he’ll do it. Stacey soon barges into the house, exclaiming that Trina’s death wasn’t accidental and that they have to call the funeral off. Lucas goes to grab a heavy ornament but releases his grip on it when Stacey reveals that she believes Ryan to be the murderer. Patrick returns home and Stacey makes a swift exit.

At the graveyard, Lucas is praying at Trina’s graveside just as Denise, Patrick, Chelsea and Jordan arrive. As the funeral gets under way, Stacey watches from a distance while hiding in the bushes. After Lucas’s speech, Jordan pays his last respects to his mother just as Stacey bounds across to the graveside.

There, she asks where Ryan is, before jumping in the grave, exclaiming that Trina’s still alive inside the coffin. As everyone watches on in horror, Stacey eventually climbs out and accuses them of being accomplices in Trina’s murder.
Back at home, Lucas thanks Chelsea for not mentioning the bracelet to Denise. Chelsea tries to convince herself that her mother has a clear conscience, while Lucas says that he put the bracelet back where he found it and they can pretend it never happened.
Meanwhile, Zainab’s flustered as she prepares for the Business Awards and is shocked when Tamwar reveals that Syed’s bed hasn’t been slept in. Syed, meanwhile, wakes in Christian’s flat and rushes off when he notices the time. He returns home with a bag of shopping and manages to successfully talk his way out of the situation.
Ian and Jane later arrive at the Masoods’ and Syed questions where Christian is, prompting Jane to reveal that he’s babysitting. Syed rushes over to the Beales’ in the hope of convincing Christian to attend, but Christian protests that he can’t sit and watch a “loved-up” Syed with Amira. Lucy later asks Christian what’s wrong, but he remains tight-lipped. Lucy, however, realises that something’s not quite right.

When the Masoods and Beales return to the Square with the ‘Best New Small Business’ award, they head to the Masood’s house to celebrate, only to discover that their door has been vandalised and a message reading, ‘Bad Boy’ has been daubed over it.

Elsewhere, Adam promises Darren that he’ll look after Libby at university. Libby says her final farewells to her family, and as she heads off to uni, she receives a text from Adam which reads ’see you in Oxford x’.

Meanwhile, Manda assures Minty that Adam doesn’t like any of her boyfriends as he’s very protective of his mother and Stacey returns home from Trina’s funeral to find Jean with Dr Jenkins.
