Coming up on EastEnders: Alfie makes a decision he’ll regret, and Tanya and Max are drifting apart!

Coming up on EastEnders, dopey Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) gets himself in over his head when he agrees to help wannabe gangster Derek Branning (Jamie Foreman) out…

It all begins when Alfie gets back to the Vic – having been away visiting Kat’s dad Charlie, who’s had a stroke – to find that Derek has been storing knocked off copper at the pub.

Initially, Alfie wants no part of the dodgy dealings, but when slippery Derek then suggests that he and Alfie could rake in a fortune by selling knock-off booze, Alfie’s tempted, given he badly needs some cash…

But when Alfie’s cousin Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd) reveals last week’s debacle with Derek – in which Michael took a beating – Alfie decides he doesn’t want to do the deal any longer…

But in Derek’s world, a hand shake is a binding contract, and going back on it may see Alfie lose the use of that hand!

Also next week, we’ll see that Max and Tanya Branning – who are played by Jake Wood and Jo Joyner – are finding it hard to keep the spark going in their relationship, what with Tanya’s illness and the couple’s worries about Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa).

And while Tanya has a heart to heart with her mum Cora (Ann Mitchell) about the flagging nature of her love life, Max is doing likewise with his brother Jack (Scott Maslen).

Both Cora and Jack advise spending more time together, and making an effort for each other, so on Valentine’s Day, the couple plan to go out for a meal together. However, an overbooking incident means they end up at home sharing fish and chips instead.

But while that goes fairly well, and the couple enjoy the night, when Max suggests that Tanya takes her cardi off, she misreads it and thinks he’s criticizing how she looks and goes to bed alone to weep.

Can they get past these misunderstandings or are they doomed to failure yet again?

Watch as of February 14th to find out!
