Coming up on Eastenders This Week: Roxy’s Baby Is Born!
Things are in a bit of a panic this week on Albert Square and on Monday, Archie calls an ambulance for Roxy who’s gone into labour and is screaming for Sean while Peggy goes in search of Ronnie. When the ambulance arrives, Roxy refuses to go without Sean but Archie tells her that she has to go to the hospital for the sake of the baby and promises he’ll find Sean for her.
As they enter the delivery room, Ronnie comforts Roxy but also vents her anger at Sean for letting her down and when the midwife asks everyone to leave the room, Archie tells Ronnie to stay. As Roxy pushes, her fears for her baby’s health mount when the midwife tells her that they’ll need a paediatrician as soon as possible.
While Stacey’s trying to get Sean to see reason back at the club, Roxy’s in severe pain and begins apologising for her past misdemeanours. With her fling with Jack playing on her mind, she’s about to say something when the midwife announces that she can see the baby’s head and tells Roxy to stop pushing.
The baby arrives and the room falls silent as Dr. Mackie tries to resuscitate her. Soon, a faint cry fills the room as more doctors surround Roxy’s daughter. The baby’s transferred to the neonatal unit just as Christian arrives and takes a distressed Roxy in his arms. Roxy’s also handed a photo of her baby before she falls asleep.
She doesn’t sleep for long though and when she wakes up frantically searches for her baby. Meanwhile, Sean hears that Roxy’s in labour and races o the hospital where he finds Ronnie looking at the picture of her new niece. Roxy, meanwhile, is taken to see her baby and tenderly holds one her daughter’s tiny hands as tears roll down her face. When Roxy sees Sean, she tells him that she wants nothing more to do with him as Archie watches smugly on.
Elsewhere, Christian explains his relationship with his mother to Lucy and a surprised Jane finds a load of boxes belonging to their mum. She soon realises that she’s left their father however, Linda reveals that this time, he left her. Jane comforts her mother as she recalls her father’s affair with a nurse and hesitantly suggests that she stay around Walford. Later, in the café, Christian’s happy when he hears that Linda’s leaving, but Peter reminds him that if he had the chance to see Cindy again, he’d jump at it. As Linda’s about to leave, Christian grabs her suitcase and tells her that he’s sent the taxi away and she can stay.
On Tuesday, Roxy’s looking longingly at her baby daughter and remarks to the nurse how much better she’s looking. The nurse tells her that she has a visitor and she’s disappointed when she turns to find Archie, not Sean.
Meanwhile, on the Square, Stacey and Mo find Sean at the kitchen table and encourage him to do the right thing and go to the hospital to see Roxy and the baby. Roxy explains to her dad that she feels Sean has let her down and Archie reassures her that she’s better off without him. Later, Stacey bumps into Ronnie in the café and tells her that Sean’s in pieces so Ronnie promises to have a word with her sister. Outside, Archie sees Sean and suggests that he just slip away quietly and no one will notice he’s gone.
At the hospital later, Ronnie suggests that Roxy move in with her for a while, but Christian interrupts them. At The Vic, Sean’s in the baby’s room and it looks like he’s about to smash the baby’s cot but instead, he crumples to the floor in floods of tears.
Roxy becomes irritated by Peggy’s fussing over flowers and snaps at her so Archie has to calm down an upset Peggy. Christian arrives and Roxy confides in him that it would be a lot easier if the baby was his but Christian promises he’ll find Sean.
Roxy later becomes defensive when Archie and Peggy push her to choose a name for her daughter; she’s believes that they think her baby won’t make it. On the Square, after hearing what Sean has to say, Christian tells him exactly what he thinks of him. On returning to the hospital, Christian tells Roxy that he had no luck with Sean but tells her he’ll be there for her. On the Square, Mo has strong words with Sean and it seems to be sinking in but later at the hospital, Roxy announces to her family that she and Christian are going to bring up the baby just as Sean walks in. He heard everything and heads for the door, dropping the present he’d bought on the way.
Elsewhere, Linda discovers Christian’s ’special box’, Tony reprimands Whitney for her behaviour the other night, Vinnie returns from Southend and Shirley and Suzy continue to wind each other up. Suzy also goes to see Jack to see how he’s coping but wishes she hadn’t while Jane pleads with Linda to go easy on Christian.
Callum offers to take Stacey to the hospital and Jack hears about Roxy’s baby’s condition. Callum tells Shirley that Vinnie has a new girlfriend, Whitney surprises Tony with a picnic and Vinnie panics when Callum reveals that he’s called his dad’s new girlfriend, Daphne, and she’s coming to Walford!
In Thursday’s episode, Sean’s sitting in the café, a little worse for wear, and leaves Ronnie yet another voicemail asking her to call him back. When Sean finally tracks her down, he asks about Roxy and the baby. Ronnie quizzes him as to why he didn’t turn up at the hospital after Archie’s call, but Sean insists that he had no missed calls. He tells her he would never have missed the birth if he’d known. At the hospital, Roxy announces the name of her daughter; it’s Amy, in memory of the baby Ronnie lost. Ronnie’s touched but tells Roxy that she doesn’t have to do that. Roxy, however, is adamant that it should be the baby’s name.
Linda and Jane aren’t impressed by Christian’s decision to bring up baby Amy with Roxy and when a guy calls him on his mobile, Christian tells him that he can’t meet as he’s building a cot. When he hangs up, he throws his SIM card away. He’s resolute about a new start with Roxy but meanwhile, Sean’s becoming increasingly annoyed by the situation with Roxy and the baby and smashes up a chair at the Slaters in his anger. Ronnie turns up at the house with a picture of baby Amy for Sean and tells him she’s taking him to see her.
At the hospital, Sean finally gets to meet baby Amy. As he’s urging Amy to hang on in there, Roxy walks in and Sean tells her that he didn’t receive a call from Archie and begs her to let him stay.
Elsewhere, Jack calls Bradley to let him know that they’re planning on waking Max up that evening and Whitney decides to skip school in the hope of spending time with Tony. Vinnie panics when he knows that Daphne’s on her way and Bradley tells Jack that he’s going to be staying well away from Max when he returns home.
With other residents, Stacey learns that Max is to be woken up today and Suzy dumps Oscar on Bradley but Ronnie agrees to help look after him. Shirley’s not impressed when Daphne arrives and Max finally wakes from his coma.
On Friday, Christian’s happy with the cot he’s built for baby Amy but Linda isn’t impressed by his intentions. She questions whether he actually knows what brining up a child entails, but Christian is adamant; whatever he does for baby Amy will be a lot better than his own upbringing. When Roxy turns up at the flat, Chrisitian’s excited about showing her the cot he’s built but Roxy has other things on her mind. She reluctantly tells him that she’s back together with Sean but is so grateful for how much Christian was prepared to give up for her. As she leaves, Christian is heartbroken but he won’t let Linda comfort him.
As Roxy and Sean sit next to baby Amy, Sean tells Roxy how much this all means to him and Roxy suggests that they change Amy’s surname to Slater. At Christian’s flat, Linda walks in on him in a clinch with Sebastian and she’s not happy about it. She announces that she’s going to pack her things and Christian quickly asks Sebastian to leave.
Meanwhile, Max is awake in his hospital bed after being woken from his coma. He has a lot on his mind but Abi’s thrilled by the news that her dad has woken up and wants to see him. Lauren, though, is a little less enthusiastic. With Max sitting up in bed, he turns on the Branning charm and asks the nurse to help him make a phone call. He calls Bradley and leaves him a voicemail pleading with him to visit. On the Square, Bradley and Jack speculate about the state of Max’s mind and wonder what he remembers about the accident. Jack suggests that Bradley tell Max what Tanya’s done so later, at the hospital, Bradley edges into Max’s room.
Max apologises to Bradley for his actions before the accident and claims that it’s been the wake up call he’s needed to put things right with his son. Still resentful, Bradley tells Max that he wished he never woken up before walking out. However, after a change of heart, Bradley walks back on to the ward and puts a blanket around his dad to make him more comfortable. As Max thanks Bradley for reconsidering, Bradley drops his bombshell and tells Max that it was Tanya who tried to kill him, leaving Max horrified by the news.
Elsewhere, Whitney quizzes Bianca about her whereabouts last night while Tanya’s finding prison life difficult. Her cell mate Nina tries to reassure her that everything will be OK but Tanya’s not convinced.
Finally, Bianca meets with a man called Jonas, Shirley goes to Booty for her free day of treatments and Whitney’s jealous when Tony invites Lauren over for tea.
