Coming up on EastEnders – Wedding Week!

On Monday, it’s the day before Peggy and Archie’s hen and stag nights and Aunt Sal arrives early to help Peggy get ready. Stacey meanwhile bumps into Danielle in the Square and asks what she’s been up to for the past few days however, being evasive, Danielle says that she’s going to the wedding and will be one of Peggy’s bridesmaids.
Unconvinced by Danielle’s claims, Stacey seizes the opportunity when she bumps into Ronnie in the café to find out who Peggy’s bridesmaids actually are and just as Stacey suspected, Danielle doesn’t feature in the wedding at all…

Danielle again increases the pressure on Archie to tell Ronnie the truth, but Archie’s adamant in his lies that Ronnie’s too emotionally fragile to be able to cope with the news that daughter she believes is dead is in fact on the Square.
Furious with her grandfather’s empty promises, Danielle resolves to tell Ronnie herself and frantic that Danielle will go through with it, Archie goes looking for Ronnie and finds her in R&R. As father and daughter talk, Archie realises that his bridge building with Ronnie finally seems to be paying off…

Later, Archie goes to the Arches where he calls Danielle. Still lying, he tells her that he’s finally told Ronnie the truth and that he wants to meet up with her. Believing him, Danielle heads for the door, completely unaware that Archie has just cut a piece of wire which looks to be destined for her neck…
Elsewhere, Janine offers to rent Peggy the sports car she has at the car lot for the wedding, Garry puts his foot in it when Manda asks Garry who Minty’s taking to the wedding and Jack offers to babysit Amy for the wedding while Jean gets to work as the Square’s new make-up artist.

On Tuesday, Archie’s trying to enjoy at his stag do but it’s clear that he has other things on his mind. As he heads for the door, Janine manages to collar him and suggests they have a one-to-one chat over a drink. She happily tells him that she thinks they’re more alike than he realises and claims that they have endless potential as a team in Walford.
When Janine goes to the bar, Archie steals her keys from her bag before bolting for the door. As he’s walking to meet his Danielle, it’s clear that the thought of killing her has crossed his mind, but he can’t summon up the courage to act on the impulse.

Danielle’s waiting for him as agreed and Archie ushers her into Janine’s flat where he attempts to convince her that leaving Walford is the only option, given Ronnie’s ‘bad reaction to the news’. Archie then offers Danielle a wad of cash to walk away from the Square, promising he’ll call to let her know when she can return.
It looks like Archie’s plan’s worked as he watches an oblivious Danielle climb the steps at the tube station. Later however, Danielle’s sitting outside the Vic with no intention of leaving until Ronnie knows the truth…

Meanwhile, Peggy’s hen do is well underway and the bride-to-be is shocked that Ronnie and Roxy have organised an American cheerleading troupe for the night. Peggy thinks the whole idea is bizarre to begin with, but it’s not long before Aunt Sal cajoles her into joining in.
Despite the concerns of her friends and family that Archie’s controlling nature has changed her, she proves that the old Peggy is still there. She begins to question herself though when Sal points out that her wedding dress isn’t at all nice.
Elsewhere, Roxy spends the whole of Peggy’s hen night waiting for Jack to call or text, Janine puts in a surprise appearance at the Vic, much to Peggy’s annoyance and Manda finally accepts Minty’s ‘plus one’ invite to the wedding.

In Thursday’s one-hour special, it’s the day of Peggy and Archie’s wedding and the bride is extremely nervous about her impending nuptials, especially as she hates the dress she’s had made. With Ronnie’s support, Peggy decides to change it back to the one she originally chose but when she arrives at the church, she worries about wearing a dress that Archie won’t like.

Phil reassures her that everything will be fine and she finally plucks up the courage to enter the church. As she walks down the aisle, Archie can’t believe that she’s switched outfits and is stunned by her insistence that he should take her as she is or not at all.

Meanwhile, with everyone at the wedding, Danielle sneaks in to the Vic and drops her locket into Ronnie’s champagne glass. Afterwards, she hides upstairs and waits for the wedding party to return from the church…

When they do, Ronnie heads upstairs to find Danielle holding baby Amy. When Ronnie tells her to leave, Danielle snaps and finally breaks her seven-month silence, dropping the bombshell that she’s Ronnie’s daughter Amy.
Archie then appears and admits that he knew about Danielle’s ‘crazy claims’, but he insists that she’s making it all up. Danielle though tells Ronnie that the proof she needs is downstairs in her champagne flute.

In the bar, Archie anxiously tries to make out to everyone that Danielle’s mentally ill, resulting in a big scene and Danielle’s leaving.

Once she’s gone, the proceedings continue and during the speeches, Ronnie raises a glass to her father but just as she does, she spots Danielle’s locket and is forced to believe the gut-wrenching news that she’s been living on the same Square as her daughter for over half a year.
As those at the wedding struggle to come to terms with the revelation, Archie’s world begins to come crashing down around him. Visibly shaken, Ronnie heads to the Slaters’ in search of Danielle but she’s nowhere to be found. Rushing to the tube station with Stacey in tow, the events which unfold in front of Ronnie’s eyes leave her with an unbearable grief…

Elsewhere during the day, Max and Tanya seek solace in each other as they discuss their daughter Lauren’s situation and the pair find themselves kissing but when Max asks Stacey to change her statement to help Lauren before her trial, Stacey makes a pass at him.

Also, Roxy slaps Ronnie at the reception and Jack admits to Ronnie that he loves her, not Roxy, before begging her for another chance and Janine makes an unwelcome appearance at the wedding party.

Friday’s episode details aren’t being revealed by the BBC until the day before so we can only give you a brief summary of some events from this episode…
The residents of Walford are trying to deal with aftermath of the events of Peggy and Archie’s wedding day.
Also, Max wants his family life back again and tells Tanya that he wants to spend more time with her and the kids while Masood stands up for Jane when Phil moans at her about the mess in the Vic.

There’s a special edition of EastEnders Revealed – The Secret Mitchell on Friday at 8:30pm on BBC3. The one-hour special takes a front-row seat to witness the marriage of Peggy and Archie but with Danielle – The Secret Mitchell – Jones about to reveal her true identity, and Archie’s wicked ways about to backfire, their holy matrimony looks set to end in an unholy mess…

Thank you for your e-mail.
We note your disappointment with the ending of ‘EastEnders’ on 02 April. However, we would stress that it contained all the elements of a classic soap episode – a wedding, high drama, and tragedy.
We acknowledge we didn’t deliver the happy ending many of the audience may have been hoping for, and that for some people this was upsetting. We hope viewers will understand that our aim is to always deliver the best drama possible.
The storyline between Ronnie and Danielle was always going to be a challenging one and the producers decided from the offset that their relationship as mother and daughter would be short lived. Giving Ronnie what she’d always wanted in the long run would have impacted on what we were trying to achieve and although Danielle’s death may have been shocking for some viewers ‘EastEnders’, like all good drama, contains a balance of storylines, both happy and sad.
Please be assured that we have registered your comments on our audience log. This is the internal report of audience feedback which we compile daily for all programme makers and commissioning executives within the BBC, and also their senior management. It ensures that your points, and all other comments we receive, are circulated and considered across the BBC.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact us.

You mongoes… what do yoiu mean i goes down for cash?
i think daniel was sweet and loving i loved her and always will i miss her and no0w one cqares know acept me love ronnie xxx
I thought the story line was sick!!!Seven months and they have to go and ruin it.Whats this gonna tell children who have been adopted?!”Don’t go looking for your real mother because if you do you’ll get hit by a car and killed!” It should have been Archie who was killed and i can’t beleieve he’s coming back!Nobody likes him!Eastenders have been a real let down!
Oh my god did everybody see that heart breaker for an ending Danielle died and it’s a pity because they were both starting to realise what thev’e turned into and who they have become. Anyways people i’m glaa you left comments but you know what they once it done it cannot be re done but like people say it should have been that old Archie Mitchell what does he think, he can just bribe Danielle with money and she’ll roll over I think not. Archie Mitchell had Danielle wrapped around his little finger and then it slipped and now all he can do is stay where he is and “ROT IN HELL.”
