Coming up on Emmerdale

On Monday, Aaron’s in pieces after having no luck finding his dog while Victoria hears noises coming from one of the barns at Butlers and is shocked to find Clyde bloodied and exhausted inside. Andy protests that he forgot the dog was there and grudgingly agrees to take him to the vets.

Aaron’s horrified to see the state Clyde’s in and Andy infuriates him by refusing to search for Paddy. As Andy drives away, Aaron smashes his car window with a rock and has to be held back by Chas before he does any more damage.
Chas and Paddy make Aaron apologise and Andy agrees not to press charges, however, Victoria’s deeply concerned by Andy’s lack of concern either for anything, including Sarah.
Also, Debbie decides to invite Andy and Victoria to Sarah’s birthday party. Cain’s enraged by her decision and his anger is shared by some of the other Dingles but Lisa demands they respect Debbie’s wishes. After his run-in with Aaron earlier in the day, Andy decides it would be a bad idea to go to the party and tells Victoria the matter’s closed. Though Sarah enjoys herself, Debbie feels bad for her that Andy hasn’t shown up. Will Debbie continue to make the effort to involve Andy?
Elsewhere, Eli’s suspicious when Lizzie offers to go into Hotten and buy Sarah’s birthday present for Marlon. Eli spends the day following Lizzie about to no avail. Marlon isn’t surprised but is amused to discover that Eli spent half his day loitering in ladies underwear shops. Lizzie’s annoyed to discover Eli’s espionage and warns him not to interfere with her life. Is there any substance to Eli’s doubts about Lizzie?

On Tuesday, Victoria’s concerned that Andy’s still in a strange mood and Mick gives him both barrels when it begins to affect the running of the farm. Diane returns from her holiday and persuades Debbie to let her throw Sarah a tea party so she can see Andy. She’s struck by his general ingratitude when she visits Butlers and explains that Debbie’s being very reasonable. Over at Butlers, Andy prepares to leave for the party but he’s easily distracted when Mick drops off a part for the tractor and fails to show at the party. Victoria’s furious with Andy but he vacantly shrugs her off. That evening and unnervingly, in only his boxer shorts, Andy moves feed bags from one side of the barn to the other. Is Andy beginning to lose it?
Meanwhile, Carl fumes to discover Cain’s working at the garage. His bad day continues when he’s refused a loan at the bank and complains that if Cain hadn’t stolen their money, everything would be different. Carl witnesses Cain’s protectiveness over Debbie and reckons he may have found his weak spot. Jimmy’s concerned by the implication of Carl’s plotting but doesn’t dissuade his brother. Will the Kings try to hurt Debbie to get at Cain?
Elsewhere, Bob and Gennie are finding work at the café increasingly uncomfortable. Bob looks forward to Brenda’s return as it’ll ease the pressure on him but, when Gennie explains her mum’s ankle still needs time to heal, Bob’s concerned that Gennie’s seeking excuses to stay around. He worries that Gennie still harbours feelings for him so Terry advises him to have it out with her, but Bob’s unsure he can take the hard-line approach.

Later, whilst teaching Gennie the basics of driving, Bob tries to explain himself but they get tied in knots and Gennie leaves in tears when Bob shouts at her for nearly crashing the car. He later assures Terry that everyone knows where they stand but isn’t as self-assured as he says. Will Gennie take the hint and stay away from Bob?
On Wednesday, Carl tells Debbie her loan payments are overdue and demands she pay up by the end of the day. Cain’s disgusted by Carl’s course of action and offers to give Debbie the money she needs. When Carl continues his vendetta by blocking the garage with a truck, Cain smashes the window and hot wires it, much to Debbie’s disapproval.

Carl comes out of Pear Tree and sees that Cain’s blocked Main Street with the truck. Jimmy has to prevent his brother from starting a fight and Cain warns the Kings to deal with him from now on instead of Debbie. Carl’s enraged and announces he’s foreclosing the loan and wants paying in full. When Cain offers to settle Debbie’s loan, Carl states the price is £2.5million. Can Cain find a way to negotiate with the Kings?
Meanwhile, Andy’s strange behaviour annoys both Diane and Debbie when he blanks them in the village. Mick also senses something’s amiss when Andy begins to repeat the jobs he’s already completed. Arriving home later, Victoria’s shocked to find that Andy has packed her things. Andy tells Victoria heard that she’s staying at Diane’s so he’s collected her things for her. That evening, when unpacking his groceries, Andy adds another bottle of ketchup next to seven others… What’s happening to Andy?
Elsewhere, Bob notices that Jamie’s missing Louise so he suggests a few extra shifts at the café might take his mind off it and, though he doesn’t say it, having Jamie around would provide Bob with an opportunity to distance himself from Gennie. That afternoon, Jamie receives an urgent phone call from Louise and is gutted when she tells him she’s ending their relationship. With Jamie completely distraught, Bob has no choice but to accept Gennie’s offer to continue helping out at the café. Can Bob get through to Gennie and explain he’s not interested?

On Thursday, Debbie appeals to Carl’s better nature but he’s intent to carry his ultimatum through. Cain makes the Kings another offer for more money but this only serves to infuriate Carl even more. Jimmy argues that they should take the money as it’s probably all Cain has left, but Carl isn’t interested. Cain then scares the Kings by leading them to believe he’s done something to Scarlett and Jimmy’s concern grows when he tries to call Scarlett and discovers that Cain’s got her phone. They’re hugely relieved when Scarlett returns home having spent the day shopping. Angry and worried about taking on Cain, Jimmy tells Carl they’ve no choice but to accept his deal. Will Carl agree for the sake of his family?
Also, Mick complains to Diane about Andy, but it seems she’s washed her hands of him. He finds Andy still in bed at the farm having done none of his morning tasks but when questioned, Andy’s indifferent leaving Mick confused and angered further. Mick, sick of Andy’s strange behaviour, resigns. Will others start to notice the odd behaviour of Andy Sugden?
Meanwhile, with her mum and dad away, Maisie arranges to meet Cain. Nathan does his best to show his disapproval but Maisie won’t listen and flirts with Cain in the Woolpack. She’s unimpressed when Nathan mentions that a designer is coming to discuss the Wylde’s shop and insists she attend. That evening, Maisie discovers Nathan lied about the meeting to prevent her seeing Cain. She’s fuming but Nathan defends himself by telling her that Cain’s even worse than Andy and explains it’s for her own good. Will Maisie heed her brother’s advice?
On Friday, Jimmy’s frustrated with Carl’s stance on Cain’s offer. Cain visits Pear Tree and issues a last chance ultimatum for them to accept his offer for the garage and, against his brother’s wishes, Jimmy takes the money and gives Cain exactly what he wants. Misreading the situation, Edna and Scarlett beg the Kings not to involve themselves with one of Cain’s crimes. Carl’s touched when Edna states her belief that they can haul themselves out of financial trouble without his help. Debbie’s annoyed to discover that other people have been negotiating over her business but is also relieved the matter’s closed. Can Debbie get on with her life?

Elsewhere, Maisie tries to rearrange her date with Cain much to Nathan’s annoyance. She invites Cain round to inspect Natasha’s car and purposefully pops the tyre before his arrival. He soon realises what Maisie’s up to and they flirt again. Nathan pulls into the drive to witness Maisie leading Cain indoors and can’t contain his fury. He interrupts the pair before anything happens and as Cain leaves, Maisie tells her brother to butt out. Later, she lies about going clubbing and meets Cain in a hotel room. Finally alone, Cain leans in for a long-awaited kiss.
Meanwhile, David’s put out when Edna organises a drop-in session so his constituents can speak to him. After being bothered by Shadrach’s harebrained schemes and Betty’s views on dog dirt, David’s had enough. Worried for her husband’s self-esteem, Val encourages David to ask Pollard for help on how to keep his constituents at bay. Pollard’s happy to give his son a few much-needed tips. Will Pollard realise David is humouring him?
