Coming up on Emmerdale

On Monday, Faye’s pleased that Ryan and Nathan are getting on so well. However, there’s an awkward atmosphere at Home Farm when Ryan’s forced to wait in the living room and make small talk with Mark while Nathan gets changed for their night out.
Natasha’s furious when she arrives home to find Ryan in her house and after another encounter with Faye, she’s determined to get them out of the village. Refusing to put up with it any longer, she demands that Mark contact his friend in Dubai to organise a job for Ryan working with a fleet of limousines. Mark’s clearly torn and feels bad about using such an underhand method to get Ryan and Faye out of the village. Will Ryan take the job and leave the Wyldes in peace?
Meanwhile, Carl’s still avoiding Lexi and when he arrives at the hospital with Jimmy after an afternoon in the pub wetting the baby’s head, Nicola’s angry that Carl’s clearly evading his marital problems. Meanwhile, Lexi’s in denial that anything’s wrong between her and Carl. Will they face up to their issues or will they continue to let their problems bubble under the surface?
Elsewhere, Ashley’s put out when Bishop Postlethwaite adds to his heavy workload by asking him to look into finding news ways of reaching out to the community with his new scheme, “Play Together, Pray Together”.
Also, Marlon’s concerned that Jake seems depressed he can’t go to Spain, and Michael and Debbie enjoy a lunchtime date during which Debbie reveals details of her past history with Jasmine.
On Tuesday, Ryan’s stunned when he gets a phone call at the garage offering him the job in Dubai. Mark goes to see Ryan and mentions that he passed his details on to a friend in Dubai. Ryan’s incredulous when he realises that Mark’s behind the job offer and, accusing him of trying to pay him off with a dream job to make up for the way he’s treated Faye, he warns him to keep away from them both.

When Faye discovers the Wyldes have set up the job, she’s enraged and heads over to Home Farm to confront Mark. Natasha’s fuming when Faye starts to lay into Mark, telling him she knows he has feelings for his son and that’s why he wants to ship him off to Dubai. Mark retorts that Faye is no better than him; she’s using her son to try and win him back. Natasha ushers Faye out but she’s clearly worried that Mark cares more for Ryan than he’s letting on. Will Ryan turn down the job of a lifetime?
Debbie arranges another date with Michael but when Sarah falls ill, she tells him she’s going to have to cancel. He offers to keep her company but she’s not ready for a quiet night in with him yet, especially with Cain hanging around. Has Debbie met the perfect man?
Meanwhile, Lexi’s annoyed when she discovers Carl went to the hospital to visit Nicola and the baby without her, and Jimmy’s taken aback when Nicola decides to call the baby Angelica without consulting him
Elsewhere, Ashley’s really starting to feel the pressure of his workload and when the Bishop suggests he organise a cricket tournament, he remains firm and insists he couldn’t possibly take on anything else.

Also, Jake scratches a winning £500 scratch card for Lizzie and is unsure about what to do when Eli urges him to keep quiet and claim it for himself, saying they both need the money. Will Jake ignore his better judgement and con Lizzie out of her winnings?
On Wednesday, Natasha’s terrified that Ryan’s going to turn down the job in Dubai and is unimpressed when she arrives in the pub to find Nathan with Ryan and Faye. Ryan mentions the offer to Nathan who wonders how he got such a big break, and Ryan pointedly remarks that someone with more money than sense owed his mum a favour.
Faye approaches Mark and Natasha in the pub and questions whether it’s a legitimate offer. Mark reassures her that it’s a great opportunity and Faye retorts that it’s a good opportunity for Mark to get rid of Ryan. Natasha adds that it could be a fresh start for both of them and is anxious when Faye tells her she’s not going anywhere. Will Faye continue to cause trouble for the Wyldes?
At the hospital, Lexi tries not to feel envious as Nicola nurses Angelica. Nicola’s furious at the way Carl’s treating Lexi and is frustrated with her constantly making excuses for him. Lexi knows Nicola’s right when she states that she’s the only one making an effort to save their marriage and is thoughtful when Nicola tells her she needs to put her foot down and be honest about what she wants.
Later that day, Carl comes to the hospital and Lexi’s upset when she arrives back from getting drinks to see him fawning over the baby. Sensing the hostility between them, Nicola and Jimmy leave the room and Lexi comments that he only came to the hospital because he thought she’d gone home. She demands to know why he can’t stand to be around her. Carl refuses to listen and walks out of the hospital leaving Lexi angrily despairing as she shouts out that she wants a baby one way or another. How long can Carl continue to ignore his wife’s feelings?

Meanwhile, Debbie and Michael get ready to go on a date and Debbie decides to change her tactics and play hard to get when Michael seductively suggests he come help zip her up. Debbie sidesteps his advances and it’s clear she’s enjoying keeping him on tenterhooks.
Also, Jake has cashed the winning scratch card and feels guilty as he hides the money from Marlon.

Elsewhere, Hannah’s embarrassed that her mum’s realised she has a crush on Andy and Aaron stirs things up between Chas and Paddy when he informs a jealous Paddy that his mum is flirting with one of the clients
On Thursday at 7pm, Nicola notices Lexi’s reluctance to hold the baby, and she can see how badly Lexi wants a baby of her own. She tells a forlorn Lexi that if Carl won’t give her what she wants, she needs to find a man who will and stop being such a victim. Later, when the nurse brings Angelica back from having some tests, Nicola’s in the shower and Lexi’s horrified when the nurse gives her the baby. She composes herself but her heart melts as she cradles the newborn. Tearful, she heads out looking for Nicola but finds herself feeling comfortable and proud to be holding the baby and when a passerby assumes it’s hers, she can’t bring herself to correct her.

Lexi is about to head back to the ward when she notices all the happy couples with their new babies and, caught up in the moment, she wanders into the stairwell, watched by Scarlett who’s busy running errands for Jimmy. When Scarlett arrives back, she informs oblivious Nicola and Jimmy that Lexi has the baby. Panicking, they make their way upstairs and are horrified to find her on the roof with their daughter.

Debbie’s been playing hard to get with Michael but finally succumbs to his charms and passionately kisses him when he arrives with a bottle of bubbly. Cain arrives home as they arrange to meet again later that week. Debbie assures her dad its only a casual relationship, but Cain warns her to be careful. Is Debbie going to get hurt?

Meanwhile, Eli’s under pressure from Marlon to pay his rent and asks Jake for his share of the winnings. Jake lies and says that he hasn’t cashed it yet. He feels terrible about stealing from Lizzie and blurts out that she’s won £500. Marlon and Lizzie are furious, despite Jake’s sincere apology, but when Eli reminds Lizzie she’s the biggest con artist of them all, she’s left feeling shame-faced. Will Lizzie change her ways?

The 8pm episode is in real time and features just five cast members.
On the roof of the hospital, Nicola begs Lexi to give her baby back, but Lexi wields her power and asks Carl, in front of everyone, why when he’s so happy to coo over Angelica but doesn’t want a baby with his own wife. Carl fails to give her a straight answer and Nicola continues to plead with Lexi to give Angelica back, but Lexi continues to lay into Carl and tells Nicola this is the only way she can get his attention.

She begs him to let her try for another baby, telling him that it’s breaking her heart and it’s all she wants. Everyone is in agreement that Carl needs to give her an answer, but he continues to evade her pleas. Jimmy urges Carl to either give Lexi some hope or put her straight, and Carl finally looks Lexi in the eyes and tells her he won’t have a child with her.
As a stunned Lexi takes a wobbly step back holding Angelica, she demands to know why. Everyone’s terrified when Carl admits he doesn’t love her and he never has. Faced with the truth she’s been trying to hide from for months, Lexi’s in the depths of despair. Will she back down and return the baby, or will it result in tragedy?

Meanwhile, Mark’s uncomfortable when he arrives in the pub and Nathan invites him to have a drink with him and Ryan. When Nathan goes to the loo and leaves them alone, Mark struggles to make polite conversation with an aloof Ryan.
Lizzie and Marlon are still furious with Jake about the scratch card and he feels terrible, so he tells Lizzie he’ll do whatever it takes to make it up to her. Later, Eli arrives at the pub and finally gives Marlon some of the money for his rent. Marlon decides to give the money to a delighted Jake so that he can go to Spain to be with his dad and Mel.

Elsewhere, the Bartons continue to be entertained by Hannah’s obvious crush on Andy. Later, at the Home Farm shop, Holly tells and indignant Aaron that she’s not interested in him and is concerned when he warns her to be careful with Andy hanging around the farm. Holly arrives home and tells a worried Moira about Aaron’s comments that Andy isn’t to be trusted around women. However, when John brings home a caravan for Andy to live in in the yard – so he doesn’t have to come to and from the village every day – Moira’s not impressed. How will they feel when they discover the details of Andy’s past?
