Coming up on Emmerdale

On Monday, Mark’s clearly agitated about Faye and is taking it out on the rest of the family. When he makes the decision to cancel his golfing trip, Natasha isn’t happy and demands he stop acting as though he’s jealous. Mark covers that he’s concerned for Ryan and when Natasha says that Faye’s only toying with him, he hesitantly agrees to go on his trip.
Later, Natasha confronts a defiant Faye in The Woolpack toilets, telling her she’s pathetic and that Cain will use her for whatever he can get and then toss her aside. Back at the bar, Cain tells Mark, in front of Natasha, that he’s welcome to Faye, adding that she’s nothing more than a “clingy tart”.
Mark rises to the bait and furiously follows Cain out of the pub, ignoring Natasha’s order to stay put. Faye tells him she knows he’s jealous and that he loves her, he’s just not man enough to admit it. Mark’s unable to deny it and she leaves him tormented when she tells him she’s not sure that she’ll still be there when he gets back from his trip.
Meanwhile, Ryan reluctantly covers for Debbie when she goes to meet Michael, however, when Cain spots Michael’s car in the village, he’s determined to find them. Debbie pales as she realises they’re about to be caught, and Michael quickly sneaks to his car.
Cain angrily confronts him, demanding to know why he’s in the village. Michael brazenly states that he doesn’t have to answer to him and he’s not seen Debbie for weeks. When Cain asks if he thinks he’s an idiot, Michael goads him and won’t back down when Cain tells him to leave the village. However, Cain’s sinister when he warns Michael never to come back and leaves him shaken. Has Cain scared Michael off for good?

Elsewhere, Zak tells a depressed Paddy that he’s still family to them and he can push them away all they likes, but they won’t give up on him. Feeling miserable, he goes to the pub to drown his sorrows. Will he ever get over Chas’ betrayal?
Also, Jai and Nikhil continue to disagree over decisions in the factory, and Nikhil’s quick to remind his brother who’s the boss.
Katie’s still disappointed with Ryan and is annoyed when he tells her to get over him.

On Tuesday, Paddy’s hung over from the night before, and is still feeling down in the dumps when a hopeful Aaron arrives to take Clyde for a walk, he suggests he should move back in with Paddy. Paddy however is incredulous and reminds him that he’s no longer living with Chas, so why should he have to live with her teenage son adding that he’s her responsibility not his!
Aaron’s hurt and tells Paddy it’s not his fault – he warned him about his mum and he should never have gone on that course and ruined everything. He storms out leaving Paddy feeling guilty and worried. Arriving at the Dingle’s to check he’s okay, Paddy panics when Shadrach tells him he packed all his bags and left. Paddy finds him at the side of the road hitchhiking and admits he does care for him and doesn’t want him to leave the village. Paddy agrees to let Aaron move back in with him until he finds somewhere more suitable but how will Paddy cope having Aaron back in the house without Chas? And how will Chas react when she finds out?

Ryan once again agrees to cover for Debbie as she goes to meet Michael. She tells him he’s mad for coming back to the village after Cain’s threats yesterday, but they enjoy a morning in bed together. Cain arrives home and finds him in the house, but Michael’s defiant. As Cain berates Debbie, Michael defends her, but when Cain pins him up against the wall, Michael realises he’s serious when he threatens to kill him if he ever comes back. Debbie’s fuming with Cain as Michael flees. Is this the last she’ll see of him?

On Wednesday, Debbie’s still furious with Cain for attacking Michael and is relieved when he finally calls and arranges to meet her. She’s gutted when Michael tells her this was meant be a good thing; enjoyable/exciting for them both, but if people are going to get hurt, perhaps it’s gone too far. He adds that it was going to have to end at some point anyway.
Worried he’s about to end things with her, Debbie tries to talk him round and tells him she thinks she’s already in love with him and its too late to worry about getting hurt. Michael’s shocked by the depth of her feelings for him and she’s devastated that he doesn’t seem to reciprocate. However, when he reveals he’s engaged, Debbie’s stunned.
As the enormity of the situation sinks in, Michael tries to reassure her that he does have strong feelings for her, and he doesn’t even know if he loves his fiancée anymore, but Debbie’s fuming and shouts that her dad was right all along. When he reveals that the wedding is next week, Debbie explodes and throws him out, feeling she’s been nothing more than a final fling to Michael.

Meanwhile, Gennie urges Katie to forgive Ryan, but Katie’s sure he doesn’t want anything to do with her now anyway. Taking heed of Gennie’s advice, she apologises to him, but is dejected when he tells her to forget it – he’s not bothered about what she thinks of him. However, Ryan clearly still has feelings for her. Will they ever hit it off?
Elsewhere, Natasha confronts Faye after seeing the tension between her and Cain and asks her when she’ll be moving on. Now that she’s split up with Cain, Natasha tells her there doesn’t seem to be any point in her staying around. However, when Faye assures her that Cain wasn’t the reason she came in the first place, Natasha’s unnerved that Faye’s clearly still intent on pursuing Mark.
Also, Aaron and Paddy continue to bicker, but Paddy admits he’s glad of the company.
On Thursday at 7pm, Debbie receives a bouquet of flowers from Michael, but is still angry with him – and with herself – for being fooled by him. Meanwhile, Cain’s annoyed when he arrives at the garage to discover she’s removed all of his belongings from the house and has decided to throw him out, wanting him out of her life totally. He pleads with her to reconsider, telling her that she and Sarah mean everything to him and urges her to tell him about her problems with Michael.
Debbie finally opens up and admits he was right about Michael. She reveals that he was about to get married and she never wants to see him again. Later, Michael arrives at the house but Debbie refuses to let him in. He continues to hammer on the door, refusing to leave until she hears him out, so Debbie opens the door and slaps him across the face. However, Michael isn’t deterred and presents her with a jewellery box.
Irate, she asserts he can’t buy her off, but she’s stunned when he tells her he’s fallen in love with her. He says that it wasn’t part of the plan but it feels so right. Debbie tells him that if he really loves her, he needs to prove it by calling off the wedding. If he marries his fiancée, she’ll never see him again. Will Michael chose Debbie and break off his engagement?

Meanwhile, Ryan apologises to Katie for his behaviour and offers to buy her a drink to make up for it. Katie half heartedly turns him down but when Ryan approaches her later and presents her with a bouquet of flowers, she tells him she’ll think about it. Will they ever make a date?

At 8pm, Debbie’s still furious with Michael who won’t commit to her and leave his fiancé. He doesn’t want to go through with the wedding, but he can’t give her the answer she wants because it’s too complicated for him to just abandon his other life. He tells her that his fiancée has a young son who sees him as a father figure, and it’d be too damaging to the boy.
Debbie realises he’s in too deep and refuses to beg him to chose her, so she walks away devastated. Distraught, she confides in her dad who’s incredulous as she talks him through Michael’s lies. Cain assures her that she’s made the right decision and she’s worth more than that. He hates Michael for what he’s put her through, however, when Michael arrives back at Tug Ghyll and reveals he’s made his decision and he’s chosen Debbie over his fiancée, she’s elated and throws herself into his arms telling him he won’t regret it. Cain isn’t happy and still doesn’t trust him. Will Michael prove him wrong and be true to his word?

Katie and Ryan put their past behind them and meet for their date in The Woolpack. It’s clear they’re finally hitting it off and Gennie and Maisie are gobsmacked when they witness them kissing in a cosy corner of the pub. At Holdgate, Jai arrives home early and is shocked to discover the Dingle clan have descended upon the house. He immediately sees through Zak’s scheme with the rats and reveals he had pest control check the house before they moved in. Demonstrating that the “rats” are just stuffed toys, he berates Nikhill for being so gullible and orders the Dingles out of the house.
On Friday, Leyla’s still feeling depressed about having no clothes and has started her fund to buy the designer shoes. However, when Katie reminds her she owes money for their bills, she’s forced to relinquish her savings and is gutted that she’ll never be able to afford anything nice.
Later, when she’s alone in the Home Farm shop, she pays a delivery man from the cash box and counts out the £250 she needs to buy her shoes. Unable to stop herself, she gives into temptation and pockets the money. Could Leyla lose her job for the sake of some shoes?
Michael tells a cynical Cain that he’s going to break off his engagement today, but Cain warns him that he doesn’t fool him. As a nervous Michael sets off to go and tell his fiancée it’s over, Debbie’s worried that she’ll talk him round. He reassures her that he loves her and he’s going to come back for her, but Cain’s doubtful.
Later that evening, Michael arrives back and tells an overjoyed Debbie that he’s called off the wedding and they can finally be together. Cain tries to rile Michael again and continues to lay into him, but Debbie warns her dad to back off, determined to make it work. Will Debbie end up getting hurt?
