On Monday, David blames Nathan for the car accident after calling on Leyla and worried for her welfare, insists that she go to the hospital to be checked over. At the shop, Doug mocks the accident when Nathan arrives and Leyla is clearly uneasy. Doug, on sensing an atmosphere, makes himself scarce and Nathan doesn’t hesitate in rubbing salt into the wound to Leyla about her imminent visit to the police station.

Moments later, Gennie comes across an inconsolable Leyla in the village and listens intently as she confesses all. Returning from the police station, Leyla confronts Nathan and hands her notice in. Nathan thrusts the notice back in Leyla’s face, frustrating her so much she slaps him. Menacingly, Nathan warns that unless she does as he says, he could make her world come crashing down. How far will Nathan’s blackmailing go?

Meanwhile, Sally’s settling back into life at the Thomas household much to the delight of Laurel and Ashley who are relieved to see Sally so content. Later, Laurel returns home and is put out when Sally’s adamant she’s happy to look after the children, frustrated with Ashley for allowing her to do so. Is Sally settling in too well?

Elsewhere, Hannah’s on a mission to raise the money she needs for her school trip and takes some expert advice from Sam on chickens. Sam, eager to assist, follows Hannah over to her friends whilst plying her with more useful information. But Hannah’s deeply embarrassed in front of her friends.

On Tuesday, Leyla remains on edge and her persistent distance leaves David concerned about their relationship. Unable to talk to anyone else, David turns to Pollard, who advises that he should inject some romance into their lives. Later, Leyla’s confiding in Gennie, but David interrupts their conversation and insists they go to the pub. Leyla’s oblivious to David’s exchanges with Diane at the bar as she’s concentrating on Nathan’s arrival in the pub. David, however, has the attention of everyone else when Diane presents him with a bottle of chilled champagne at their table…

Nervous, David drops to one knee and asks Leyla to marry him. Will Leyla be forced to tell David the truth?

Elsewhere, in an attempt to win over Cain, Charity suggests she cook a meal for the family, but his reaction leaves little to be desired. Aware he’s playing it cool, Charity makes her way downstairs to greet him later in nothing but a sultry and revealing dressing gown. Cain’s deliberately being blasé, but when Charity accosts him in the kitchen after the meal, there’s a charged moment between them and Cain is totally confused by her signals. Will Cain give in to Charity’s advances?

On Wednesday, distraught after last night’s antics, Leyla faces a smug Nathan when she braves work the following morning. Despite Leyla’s best intentions to ignore Nathan’s jibes and petty criticisms, Doug clocks the tension and is puzzled with Nathan’s attitude towards Leyla. Later, Doug decides to pay Leyla a visit, but when he questions her down beat mood, Leyla breaks down in tears. Doug encourages Leyla to open up to him but when she confesses about stealing the petty cash, and Nathan’s blackmail, he’s left gobsmacked and tells her she must come clean to David. Will Leyla take Doug’s advice?

Elsewhere, Laurel’s genuinely grateful to Sally for her help around the house, but wanting some alone time with her husband, hints to Sally that she’ll be cooking for just herself and Ashley later. Much later, Laurel returns to Mulberry to find that Sally’s already served up dinner. Pleading ignorance, Sally proclaims to a miffed Laurel that she had simply misunderstood her earlier request. Laurel’s frustrated with her persistent interference but it’s Sally who’s left reeling when it becomes clear that her actions are only freeing up Laurel to spend more time with Ashley. What will Sally’s next move be?

Meanwhile, Cain remains guarded and unconvinced by Charity’s return, and to test her word, he deliberately leaves his wallet before heading out of the house. Charity spots the wallet and doesn’t wait long before rifling through it. Despite not finding anything of relevance to the security unit, Charity comes across a picture of Debbie with Sarah, and a smirk crosses her face. Later, Charity finds Cain at the café and hands him his wallet, believing it was a genuine error.

On Thursday at 7pm, Laurel’s held up at work and after calling to let the family know, a delighted Sally doesn’t waste any time in filling in and leads the family off to the bonfire without her. Ashley’s thrilled when Laurel turns up and upon planting a kiss on her lips, Sally rages at being pushed out so quickly.

When it’s clear the children are tired and need to be taken home, Sally’s quick to offer her assistance but is taken aback when Ashley and Laurel present a united front and insist it isn’t her responsibility. Furious at being alienated, evil Sally looks on and purposefully decides not to help as a burning ember from the fire sets Laurel’s coat alight. Will Sally change her mind and come to Laurel’s rescue?

Meanwhile, Charity’s glamorous attire and her entrance at the Woolpack is causing a stir amongst the males, and as Cain arrives, he plants a kiss on her cheek, much to disappointment of Jai. Smug at winning over Cain so easily, Charity heads to the bar and greets Jai with a kiss, leaving Cain watching on jealously. Arriving at the bonfire, Charity continues to make Cain green with envy as she flirts outrageously with Jai. Will Cain see through her games?

Elsewhere, David tries his utmost to avoid Leyla at the bonfire party, but when he catches her deep in conversation with Nathan, his suspicions are aroused at their closeness.

At 8pm, Cain pays Chas and Debbie a visit at the Woolpack and by way of an apology for his attitude, hands them a wad of cash, insisting that they have a night out on him. Returning to Tug Ghyll, Cain’s pouring Charity a glass of wine as she emerges from upstairs in her dressing gown. However, they’re interrupted as Debbie arrives back, her plans to go out aborted.

Thrilled to see her parents getting on so well, Debbie heads straight off to bed and Charity makes to follow. Pulling her back, and moving to kiss her passionately, Cain’s left aching with desire when Charity deflects his advances and kisses him on the cheek before heading off for bed herself. Will Cain chase Charity?

Elsewhere, Sally menacingly watches on as Laurel’s coat is ablaze, but as Marlon witnesses the flames, he shouts out to warn Laurel and Sally suddenly springs into action. As Laurel’s sleeve catches fire, Sally throws her coat over the flames and brings Laurel to the ground before rolling over her and extinguishing the flames.

Marlon races in, dowsing them both with a bucket of water before Ashley leads a dazed but unharmed Laurel into the house. Was that a genuine act of kindness from Sally?

Meanwhile, Moira becomes concerned when she witnesses Holly and Aaron flirting.

On Friday, Sally’s incensed to see Ashley and Laurel so loved up, and in an attempt to cause some friction, she absent mindedly makes reference to their past together. Laurel cottons on to Sally’s gesture and reminds Ashley that today is about them, which he’s quick to acknowledge. Later, Sally’s plying Ashley and Laurel with cocktails, but out of sight, adds extra vodka to one glass which she then hands to an oblivious Laurel.

Arriving back later, giddy and uncontrollable, Laurel irritates Ashley and so he escorts her up to bed whilst Sally helps herself to Laurel’s bottle of champagne downstairs. Disappointed, Ashley returns to find Sally suggesting a toast to happy memories. Will Ashley fall for Sally’s games?

Meanwhile, Cain returns home to find that Charity’s offered her services for babysitting. Seizing the opportunity to reel Cain in further, Charity insists they discuss their relationship, but it isn’t long before he’s back on the subject of money. Turning the tables, Charity insinuates that money is the only thing getting between them, and sure they want the same thing, she kisses Cain. Will Charity succeed in conning Cain?

Elsewhere, Pollard’s concerned to see David looking so down and takes it upon himself to question Leyla in a bid to make things right.
