Coming up on Emmerdale

On Monday, David starts to get suspicious when he sees Leyla with Nathan and demands she start being honest with him. When David assumes she’s having an affair with Nathan, she’s forced to admit that the truth is far worse and Nathan has been blackmailing her. When she reveals that she slept with Nathan to keep him quiet, David’s disgusted. Will David be able to forgive Leyla?
Meanwhile, Laurel has the hangover from hell but is unsure how she managed to get so drunk last night, especially when it was Sally and Ashley that ended up drinking her anniversary champagne. Will Laurel catch on to Sally’s scheming?
Elsewhere, much to Carl’s interest, Debbie pops round to see Chas to tell her about how well Charity and Cain are getting on.

On Tuesday, Leyla and David mull over the events of the night before and are both feeling totally dejected. Riled, David decides to go to Home Farm and confront Nathan, but as Nathan isn’t there, Natasha takes the brunt of David’s anger. When Nathan discovers that David knows the truth, he turns nasty on Leyla. Thankfully, David turns up and rescues Leyla, punching Nathan into the bargain. Did David do this for Leyla?
When Will’s ball is kicked into the barn, he innocently goes to get it. Inside the barn, Will hears something and Belle quickly follows, thinking they could catch a fox. When confronted with a pair of fierce eyes, they run scared. They discover a scared Ukrainian woman hiding who tells them no one must know she’s here. What is this stranger’s secret?

On Wednesday, clearly starting to get annoyed, Laurel gives Sally the cold shoulder when she keeps offering to help in the run up to Ashley’s birthday. Adding to her irritation, Laurel’s bought Ashley a large cake for his birthday, but is taken aback when Sally reveals the home-baked cake she made that morning.
Later, Laurel comes home to find Sally, Ashley and Gabby in the kitchen playing around with the icing, and she feels as though she’s intruding. Laurel starts to play Sally at her own game, informing her that Ashley’s birthday with be strictly close family only. Will Sally play nicely?

A bruised Nathan returns home to his parent’s interrogation, but says it’s nothing. When Katie walks in and gives Nathan an icy reception, Natasha’s intrigued. When Natasha confronts Nathan about Leyla, he of course plays the innocent and claims she turned into a bunny boiler when they had a one night stand. Later, much to Doug’s shock, Natasha tells Leyla that she’d better stop being so naïve and leave her son alone. Having been warned she will lose her job, Leyla realises this isn’t the end of Nathan’s trouble causing. Will Leyla put Nathan in his place?
Belle confuses Lisa when she wants two bacon sandwiches for breakfast, hiding one in her satchel when she isn’t looking. Olena is thankful to Belle for the sandwich, saying her mum is an amazing cook. Belle tries to persuade Olena to come with her and thank Lisa herself. Olena assures Belle it’s too risky for anyone to know she’s there. Will Belle keep Olena’s secret?

On Thursday at 7pm, pleased that Sally seems to have got the message, Laurel takes advantage of the alone time with Ashley. Whilst Laurel is at work, Sally offers to take the family out to dinner, but Ashley explains Laurel has planned a surprised. Later, Laurel arrives at the Church to deal with the parish paperwork only to find Sally’s already there. Fuming, Laurel demands to know if Sally is deliberately trying to wind her up. When Laurel insults Sally’s failed marriage, she finds it hard to keep her anger in and has to leave…

But before Sally goes, she menacingly positions the heater closer to the vestry curtain. Pleased with herself, she locks the door leaving Laurel inside the church, unaware of the terror about to unfold. Will Laurel realise before it’s too late?
Unhappy at the thought of working in the shop without Leyla, Doug tries to persuade her not to quit and give Nathan the last laugh. Will Leyla take Doug’s advice?
Trying to make it up to Terry, Val decides to work extra hard during breakfast at the B&B. Having seen the guests in the pub, Terry’s furious when they say they aren’t coming back.

At 8pm, unaware of the smoke starting, Laurel tells Ashley on the phone that she’ll be home soon. However, just as she’s about to leave, the vestry curtain goes up in flames. Laurel races towards the back door and is horrified to find it locked. Panicking, she runs through the flames towards the front door and realises she’s trapped and her phone is on the desk on the other side of the growing flames.

As the heater explodes, Laurel’s left bashing on the front door, desperately hoping someone will hear her cries. Zak alerts Ashley to the burning church and as Sally sees him, she exaggerates her panic. Ashley charges through the doors and Laurel hears his cries but is too weak to call back and slowly slips into unconsciousness. The villagers look on as the fire brigade fight the flames, shocked by the scene that’s unfolded in front of their eyes. Will Laurel survive?
Leyla heads to Home Farm to tell Nathan she’s going to stay on at the shop. Plucking up the courage to play him at his own game, Leyla informs him there’s no proof she took the money. Speechless, Nathan hasn’t a clue what’s coming when Leyla knees him in the groin for good measure before happily leaving him on the floor. Has Nathan met his match?

Already furious with Val, Terry hears a commotion upstairs. As he bursts in, he finds Val and Pollard in bed canoodling.
On Friday, Ashley anxiously waits at Laurel’s bedside for her to wake up, reeling from what’s occurred and blaming himself for asking her to help with his correspondence. The Doctor and nurses hurry in and Ashley is panicked as he watches on. After what seems like a lifetime, the Doctor assures Ashley and Doug that Laurel will be ok. Laurel tries to make sense of what happened, and she tells Ashley the front door was locked so she couldn’t get out. Ashley informs her it wasn’t or how would he have got in. The others arrive, Sally following, relieved that Laurel is ok.
Acting motherly to Gabby, Sally reassures Laurel that they can cope without her. Laurel watches as they all leave looking like a happy family, a seed of doubt firmly planted in her mind that all is not well. Will Laurel suspect Sally?
Priya’s made up when newly single David takes up her offer to go out for a drink. Gennie breaks the news to Leyla that Priya and David are going on a date. Hurt, Leyla sees them walk into the pub, but determined not to let it get to her, she tells Gennie they’re going to stay put. Priya sees David’s clearly distracted and asks if he wants to move on, but David assures Priya that he and Leyla are finished. Clear she’s out of her depth, Priya magnanimously calls it a night on their unsuccessful date. A ray of hope for David and Leyla?
Whilst Brenda and Val are at loggerheads, Terry’s losing patience. Terry’s anger reaches breaking point as Pollard exclaims the B&B runs itself. Terry’s furious with Pollard and Val and tells them what he thinks of their laziness before storming out.
