On Monday Maisie’s unnerved that Nathan’s career is soaring whilst hers languishes at the Woolpack. After speaking with Val, Maisie tells Mark that she’s enjoying working at the pub and would love to be landlady. Mark’s unsure and his hesitation upsets Maisie so, putting his reservations aside Mark discusses Maisie’s wishes with Val.

She puts two and two together and tells Pollard that Mark’s offered to buy the Woolpack. The pair of them jump the gun and tell Mark to name his price, only to have him immediately reject the opportunity. However, after watching Maisie excel on her day shift, Mark reconsiders. The sneaky trio agree not to share the secret, even with an unsuspecting Diane. Can Val sell the Woolpack behind her sister’s back?

Meanwhile, Doug has a thoroughly miserable day at the village fete as people firmly pigeonhole him as the ‘village pariah’. Left in charge of the Emmerdale Explorers stall and put in charge of minding Belle, Will and TJ, Doug falls victim to a prank which allows the kids to make off with a large jar of sweets. While they’re messing around with the sweets, Will begins to choke and a furious Natasha arrives just in time to dislodge it.

After another knock to Doug’s failing reputation, Sandy advises him to do something about it. Feeling guilty, Doug make it clear to Bob that he’d be a fool not to sell to Brenda just because of village gossip and advises him to change his mind. Will Bob take the suggestion on board?

On Tuesday, Maisie’s delighted at the prospect of becoming the landlady of the Woolpack and buys into Val’s plan to persuade Diane that she’s too old and tired to run the place and will therefore sell to Mark. After getting hold of some tablets from Nathan, Maisie makes Diane a drink having crushed the medication into it, but Val drinks the tea instead and Maisie’s plan fails.

When she notices Val asleep on the sofa, Maisie mistakenly thinks she’s in a coma or something so she throws a vase of water in Val’s face, which instantly wake her sleeping employer. Diane finds the whole incident hilarious whereas the co-conspirators are forced to go back to the drawing board. Will Maisie and Val outwit Diane?

Elsewhere, Chas decides to have a talk with Aaron when she notices he’s become close to Victoria. She’s satisfied with Aaron’s explanation but the same can’t be said for Andy and Daz and Daz especially isn’t impressed to see that Victoria’s developing feelings for Aaron.

Back at Butler’s farm, Andy lectures Victoria about the dangers of getting close to the Dingles in the midst of his problems with the family and Daz also warns Victoria to back off but she’s secretly pleased to notice that he seems jealous. Will Victoria stay away from Aaron or carry on trying to wind Daz up?

Also, Lexi’s angry when Carl mentions that their wedding is way down his list of priorities so she decides to plough on with the preparations without him. However, when her wish list comes out at an exorbitant cost, she’s forced to re-evaluate her expectations and buy certain items from an auction website. Lexi then returns home, delighted to have reduced the cost to £3000, but she still can’t raise any enthusiasm from her fiancé. Does Carl really want to marry Lexi?

Elsewhere, Victoria skives school to spend the day with Aaron and they talk about each other’s lives before Aaron leans in for a kiss. Victoria reciprocates but their passionate exchange is interrupted when she receives a text from Andy. They rush back to the village but Aaron makes no attempt to hide from Andy so while Andy drags his sister home, Aaron smugly watches, confident that the kiss will lead to more.

That evening Andy again warns Victoria to stay away from Aaron or face the consequences but Victoria has no intention of doing so and a text from Aaron asking for another meeting just makes her more determined. Is the feud between the Dingles and Sugdens about to step up a gear?

Meanwhile, Jamie deceives Betty into thinking that further chutney orders are to be sent to Louise, however, his scheme soon starts to unravel when Betty notices a delivery of chutney at Home Farm.. After giving Bob a chance to admit what they’ve done, Betty decides that revenge is in order. She tells Jamie and Bob that Turner has been taken ill because of a rogue batch of chutney and that they must get the produce back before Louise eats it. Jamie rushes off to retrieve the chutney and while he’s gone, Betty cooks a disgusting chutney alternative. Is Jamie’s money making scheme about to backfire spectacularly?

On Thursday, Diane announces to Val that she’s retired and will be selling the pub. Val begins to celebrate but Diane cuts in and says that, yes she’ll be selling – but to Rodney and Nicola, not Mark. While Val and Pollard struggle to find a way out of their predicament, Maisie flounces in to survey what she thinks are her new premises.

Diane the rounds on her sister, telling her she knows all about the set-up and adds that Val is no longer welcome in the pub. When Mark finds out that the pub isn’t on the market after all, he’s furious and Maisie throws her toys out of the pram too. Diane thanks Val for keeping her on her toes and chases her devious sister out of the pub with a soda siphon! Can Diane forgive Val… again!?

Meanwhile, ignoring her brothers, Victoria meets Aaron once more. They share each other’s problems with their families and before long the pair are kissing again. Their liaison is rumbled though when Andy receives a phone call from school saying that Victoria hasn’t been in.

Andy and Daz are furious to find Victoria and Aaron at the garage with Aaron and Daz punches Aaron so they launch into a fight which sends Aaron headfirst into a workbench. Victoria screams as Aaron lies apparently lifeless on the ground. However, when Aaron regains consciousness, his anger takes over and he vows revenge on Daz and Andy through Victoria. What does Aaron have in mind for their sister?

Elsewhere, Betty puts her revenge plan into motion and gives Jamie and Bob the ‘killer’ chutney, having labelled them with messages of love to Louise. A clueless Jamie delivers the produce to Home Farm so Natasha can serve it to her guests at the shoot. Nathan unwittingly tastes the chutney before dashing to the sink to spit it out because of its foul taste. Natasha’s furious and shoves a spoonful into Jamie’s mouth while warning him not to pull a stunt like that again. Betty later admits what she’s done and Bob agrees to giving her free tea and buns in the café as recompense!

In Friday’s episode, Victoria tells Daz that the only thing that will stop her seeing Aaron is if Daz goes out with her instead! After hearing about the fight, Chas explains the situation to Diane who then worries about Victoria living with her brothers and despite warnings from Chas, Aaron then meets Victoria but Daz sees them together and his constant interference convinces Aaron that Victoria’s just not worth the hassle.

Later, Diane visits the farm to find out what’s been going on between Victoria and Aaron and her concern grows when Andy seems determined to settle things by any means necessary. While they debate the matter, Victoria sneaks off to meet Aaron who apologises and suggests they keep seeing each other. Sharing another kiss, it seems their relationship will continue in secret.

Will’s disappointed and upset, but he receives a further blow when Natasha won’t give him a decision as to whether he can or can’t attend a sleepover organised by the Emmerdale Explorers. Can Will bridge the class divide that’s blighting his young life?

Rodney points out to Betty that she may have missed an opportunity with the Wyldes so after apologising to Natasha, Betty’s stunned when the ‘lady of the manor’ offers to sell her normal chutney under the Home Farm brand. Jamie’s dispirited to hear of the development but Rodney tells him he deserved it.

Rodney then goes to see Natasha and suggests holding a culinary talent contest in the village where the winners receive a contract through Home Farm and Natasha agrees but Rodney adds the condition that if it’s successful, he’s to be given a job. Has Rodney got his foot in the door at Home Farm once more?
