Coming Up On Emmerdale This Week…..

Emmerdale

In Monday’s episode, Debbie’s horrified to hear from Chas that Jasmine has gone to MacFarlane’s club looking for information to use in her exposé. Meanwhile, Jasmine meets the club’s owner, Gary MacFarlane, but is warned by the other workers to keep out of his way.

When Jasmine also bumps into a young delivery boy, Aaron, she can’t help but wonder what’s in the mysterious package he’s handed.

Back in the village, Debbie and Chas are worried when they can’t reach Jasmine and are forced to ask Shane for help. Shane find her and warns her that she’s playing with fire but having been offered a trial at the club, Jasmine is determined to work undercover. Will she soon regret being so stubborn?

Elsewhere, Edna tells Rodney off for leading Lily astray and when Lily arrives at the factory, it seems that her problems are far from over and after another tirade from Val, Lily quits her job.

Rodney tries to convince Lily that she needs to go through with the operation or risk losing her life but she tells Rodney that she doesn’t need sympathy; she just wants to have fun until her time comes. Rodney tries to protest but realises he won’t change her mind. Is Lily making the wrong decision?

In Tuesday’s hour long episode, Jasmine’s annoyed with both Debbie and Shane for trying to put her off going to the club. Lying to Shane, she says that she’s going to pack it in but shows up for her first shift and begins to learn the ropes. She notices a secret meeting taking place in the manager’s office and makes plans to get inside…

Listening at the door of Gary MacFarlane’s office, Jasmine’s unaware that the boss is watching her on CCTV. As the office door swings open, Jasmine leaps back in surprise and Gary catches her red-handed. He wastes no time in firing her, leaving Jasmine furious at her stupidity.

Debbie sends Eli to pick Jasmine up but when he arrives at the club, Eli is astounded to see Danielle outside. He demands answers as to where she’s been but Danielle is in no mood to talk and does her best to escape him. Eli’s further shocked when Danielle reveals that the police are involved with the MacFarlanes and that they released her from prison. Desperate to help, Eli tries to make her leave with him but she deliberately hurts his feelings to make him leave.

Back in the village, Jasmine and Eli fill Debbie in on what happened and she surmises that Shane might be involved. Jasmine visits Shane’s flat but he lies and says that he let Danielle escape for her own good so she wouldn’t be caught by the MacFarlanes. Jasmine seems convinced and Shane picks up on the opportunity to sweet talk her into bed, but is Shane more dangerous than Jasmine imagines?

Elsewhere, spirits in the choir build as practice begins to make perfect. However, the devious Nicola has a final attempt at ruining the choir’s chances by suggesting they click their fingers along with the music when they perform in the competition heats. Her plan bears instant fruit as Sam in particular struggles to combine words and moves. During rehearsals, the church assessor arrives to evaluate the church for the closure proposal.

Furious at his arrival, the villagers start protesting outside the church using song. As the church assessor becomes more frustrated, an argument develops and a drunken Terry stumbles over to punch the church assessor and to defend Brenda’s honour. Will St Mary’s live to regret the actions of its unruly congregation?

On Wednesday, Pollard guesses what David and Nicola are up to after finding an article on converting churches into apartments and Ashley’s worried when McNally comes sniffing around after Terry’s attack on the church inspector.

Later, the choir argue over their unflattering outfits, just as the judge arrives at the church. After saying a quick prayer, Ashley accidentally knocks a curtain pole off the wall and it hits the judge on the head. With his parish’s future on the line, Ashley insists the judge delay a visit to hospital, even though he has concussion.

The choir perform their song and are stunned to get through, thanks to the judge being barely conscious. As the choir celebrate, Pollard collars David and blackmails him into cutting him in on their scam. Will father and son bring the church down?

Meanwhile, a loved up Shane and Jasmine enjoy a drink together following their night of passion. Debbie fears that Jasmine’s falling for Shane, all too aware that she didn’t sleep at home the night before.

Confronting Jasmine, Debbie and Eli refuse to believe that Shane let Danielle go free out of the goodness of his heart. Having spent the night with him, Jasmine insists he’s a good guy and Debbie’s appalled at her lack of judgement. Can she convince Jasmine to back out of the dangerous relationship?

Also, Brenda’s stunned when Val makes remarks about her weight and she considers joining a gym to impress Terry but Val instead suggests she try the ‘cabbage diet.’

Against her better judgement, Brenda asks for more advice from the experienced Val on how to entice men but when Brenda makes a clumy attempt to talk dirty to Terry, Val has to point out to Terry that Brenda really likes him. Will Terry act on this new information?

Thursday in Yorkshire sees Nicola delighted that her work with the choir has paved the way to a reconciliation with Rodney.

Fearing she could end up forcing Laurel and Ashley to move to Leeds, Nicola’s conscience gets the better of her and she tells David she doesn’t want to buy the church. However, Pollard arrives and he and David insist that they are going ahead and Eric tells her he’s taking a cut; if she doesn’t agree, he tells her he’ll expose her duplicity.

Nicola begs David not to support his father, but can she defeat the evil of Pollard and son?

Elsewhere, Brenda thinks twice about the cabbage diet after getting a terrible stomach ache and trapped wind. She has sore misgivings after Terry offers to cook tea and hopes her constitution won’t embarrass her.

As the day wears on, her thoughts turn to what might happen on the date and she again worries that her lack of experience may put Terry off. Gennie assures her that if he’s a gentleman, he’ll take it slowly.

Placated, Brenda heads off to Terry’s, but no sooner has she arrived than her stomach cramps return and she dashes to the bathroom. Apologising afterwards, Brenda’s unimpressed when Terry serves up a large portion of chips and quiche.

Too embarrassed to explain the real reason why, Brenda says that she can’t eat much because she’s watching her weight. Terry’s crestfallen, thinking she doesn’t like what he’s made for her. When Bob comes home with TJ, Brenda makes her excuses and hurries home, leaving Terry confused. Has Brenda ruined her chance with Terry?

The final episode of the week on Friday sees Terry and Brenda both on edge after their botched date. Brenda tells Val that the cabbage diet has failed miserably as she’s actually gained weight. Val decides to give her a makeover before she meets Terry again that evening.

At the café, Terry wrongly assumes that Brenda thinks he’s fat and shares his concerns with Bob. Bob however suggests that Terry try to psyche himself up before the date to boost his confidence, but as a semi-naked Terry talks to himself in front of the mirror while getting ready, Brenda lets herself into the B&B and comes face-to-face with him. She’s horrified and rushes off, convinced that Terry’s some sort of sex fiend. Are Terry and Brenda doomed to fail?

At Pear Tree cottage, Carl’s put in his place by Jimmy after he expresses his doubts about Matthew and Anna’s relationship. Over at Holdgate, Donald suggests that Anna go to Northumberland on a job, but she refuses because Matthew will be back tomorrow.

With no other plans afoot to get her away from Matthew, Donald begs his daughter to end things with his enemy and states that she has to choose between them. Anna’s reluctant to do so but she picks Matthew so an irate Donald coldly tells her there will be consequences. Anna realises she’ll need to confess to Matthew that she tried to ruin his business before Donald tells him. Can Anna save her fledgling relationship?

Meanwhile, Pollard and David plan to meet with an architect to take advice on the best way to maximise profits from the church. They try to keep the plans secret from Nicola, but she finds the documents and is hurt by their deception. She channels all her energy into the choir, changing allegiances while pretending to David she’s still on-board.

Nicola recruits the awful Leyla to the choir, but when Laurel objects, Nicola confesses that she’s feeling down and considering pulling out. However, after another conversation with the big-headed David, Nicola vows to win the competition and wipe the smile off his face.
