Coming Up: The Primetime Soaps Tonight

We kick off tonight’s primetime soapfest with Emmerdale at 7pm on ITV1. Debbie is worried about what’s going on at Butler’s farm when Sarah draws a picture that shows Jo crying while a fierce looking Andy stands over her. Sam confirms her fears and says he thinks Andy is beating Jo. Debbie then confronts Jo who finally breaks down and admits that Andy hits her and begs Debbie to keep it a secret, but will she?

Elsewhere, Donna suffers a panic attack during her physiotherapy session which leaves Marlon even more worried about her and despite Paddy’s assurances that Donna will bounce back, Marlon’s not so sure.

Lisa refuses to go to work in protest about Lexi’s promotion but Pollard visits her and offers her the same wage he’s paying Lexi if she’ll come back. She initially refuses so Eric plays his trump card and tells her he knows all about the curtain heist so she has to reconsider her stance but only on condition that Pollard increases everyones wages.

Then we’ve got the first of tonight’s two episodes of Coronation Street which air at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV1.

In the 7.30 show, Mel’s still struggling with her guilt over Abi’s injuries and can’t bring herself to go into work so she heads for the Rovers instead. Later, she gets into a taxi and Teresa and Darryl follow her, only to realise she’s heading for the club where the fight took place, but why’s she going back there?

Elsewhere on the street, Fiz tells John that she’d like to give their relationship another go, which he’s overjoyed to hear but will it last this time and what will her friends think about it?

Meanwhile, Liam and Tom are organising their stock while Maria comments on how well they’re managing without Carla. The boys keep quiet about Carla’s role in the venture but is Maria about to find out the truth?

At the shop, Amber’s getting ready for a date with Darryl but Dev doesn’t approve. However, he’s got other things to worry about and as Nina gets dangerously blasé about their affair, Dev worries that Prem will discover their sordid secret.

Next up is Eastenders at 8pm on BBC1 and tonight’s the night we finally get to meet Tony but first, Ian is on edge after seeing Max and Phil with a gun, so when he spys Max looking at him spying out of the window, he panics and tells Lucy what he saw yesterday. Far from being as scared as her dad, Lucy thinks it’s funny and rushes off to tell Lauren.

Meanwhile, Ricky, Bianca, Pat and the kids are orgainising Tony’s homecoming party but Bianca confides in Whitney that she’s worried Tony won’t love her or fancy her anymore. Whitney assures her that she looks great and that everything will be fine when Tony returns.

Once the party starts, Max discovers Lucy and Lauren sharing a bottle of vodka which he takes off them, but Lucy then blurts out what Ian caught on camera. Max immediately rings Phil and tells him that they’ve got a problem. The two then go over to Ian’s wearing gloves and as Ian cowers terrified, Phil says, “We’re here to kill you, Ian.” I imagine Ian’s probably going to go to Defcon Brown at that point!

Finally, we’ve got the 8.30pm episode of Corrie which sees Teresa watching Mel as she follows nasty fight-girl Charelle and her friends at the club where Abi got injured. Realising that Mel intends to settle the score with the chavvy girls, Teresa hastily talks some sense into her and warns Mel that she not only risks losing her job but she might end up going to prison too. Personally, I wouldn’t miss her if she did; horrid little stick insect. I don’t know why but I really dislike most of that family, with the exception of Gerry and oddly, Teresa!

Meanwhile, Amber’s upset when Darryl seems to have stood her up but as she’s consoling herself with chocolate – I hear ya sister – Darryl turns up, all apologies. Will they kiss and make up or will she stick with chocolate which, let’s face it, never lets a girl down and is far more attractive than Darryl?
Her dad Dev is late for a meeting with Prem but way OTT vamp Nina isn’t bothered about that. She’s in no hurry to leave Dev’s flat so when Prem arrives at his door, Dev has to hide Nina in his bedroom. Is their yucky little affair about to be revealed?

Elsewhere, Fiz worries that her rekindled relationship with John isn’t going to be readily accepted by everyone and Tom and Liam have a secret meeting with Carla to talk business. Conniving Carla is chuffed to hear Liam lying and making up excuses to Maria. She’s a nasty baggage that one isn’t she?
It’s going to be an interesting soapy week this week as all the primetime soaps have strong storylines at the mo, with the possibly exception of Emmerdale. I’m most looking forward to Eastenders this coming week though as we get to see the plot begin to evolve with Tony and hopefully find out what Jane’s up to.

I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve been lying awake at night wondering what she’s playing at. Anyone got a spare life I could borrow?
