As fans of Corrie will know, Katherine Kelly is to leave the show and her role as Becky McDonald at the end of the year.

But it seems she’s getting little sympathy about her impending departure from her co-star Simon Gregson, who of course plays Becky’s estranged husband, Steve McDonald.

Speaking to This Morning viewers, Katherine said that he has no sympathy with her concerns over leaving the cast because it was her own choice.

And of course, the fact that Katherine is leaving means there’s no hope of a reconciliation between Becky and Steve.

Katherine said, “I handed my notice in and they had to break us up!

“I think if I wasn’t going, I really think that it would still go on…

“Simon Gregson keeps saying to me – I’m like ‘it’s so sad’ – and he says, ‘well, it’s all your fault’.”

Katherine went on to admit that she’ll really miss being on the show.

She said, “At my leaving do I might not even bother putting mascara on that night!

“I’m going to miss [Becky] so much and I’m going to miss everybody here.

“It might not be forever, we’ll see.”
