Coronation Street: Antony Cotton says he’s “too busy to be a dad”
In episodes that will air over Easter, we’ll see Sean taking a trip to London to spend time with Dylan, and whilst there, he bumps into his ex-boyfriend Marcus (Charlie Condou).
The pair return to Weatherfield as an item, and it will transpire that the couple will take over custody of Dylan and raise the boy together.
While discussing that storyline and the controversial aspect of two gay men raising a child, Antony said, “It’s a terribly old-fashioned view. Gay people are the same as anybody else.
“As long as two people are happy and offer a child unconditional love, I don’t see what the problem is…
“But as for kids of my own, I think I’ve got enough to do taking care of myself!”
But Antony also revealed that he’s having a great time working with the three year old twins who play the role of Dylan.
He told New! magazine, “The identical twins who play my three-year-old son are so cute.
“I kept trying to get them to pick up some of my mannerisms.
“In one scene I did a flamboyant shrug, and the little boy did the same when it was his shot.”
