Coronation Street Bosses Axe Lake District Story

Coronation Street bosses have decided to axe planned scenes in the Lake District as part of their new cost cutting measures.

Producers are planning a who dunnit style murder for Liam Connor and the scenes were due to be filmed over a number of days at the Lake District. However the venue has now been changed to a beauty spot in Rivington, Lancs, just 20 miles from the soap’s studios in Manchester so that ITV won’t have to pay for overnight accomodation.

“Nobody on the cast or crew can believe the filming of such a major storyline has been axed because of cost,” an insider told the Daily Star Sunday. “The last time we worked in the Lakes it involved several days’ filming and accommodation.”
