Coronation Street’s Jennie McAlpine has admitted that she’d love her on screen mum to return to the cobbles.

Wendi Peters, left the soap in 2007 when her character Cilla Battersby Brown went go to live in Las Vegas.

Jennie told MSN that it would be “lovely” if Cilla returned to the Street.

She added: “It would be great. I think she’d definitely stir things up. Fiz definitely would not want her to come back, that’s for sure.

“I think Chesney (Sam Aston) would because he loves her whatever she’s done. He always seems to forgive her. So it would be great for Corrie and for us. But not for Fiz, I don’t think.”
