Coronation Street cast and crew in fear of possible “maniac” on-set
It’s been reported today that the cast and crew of Corrie are “nervous” as it’s suspected there could be a “maniac” on the set who’s determined to hurt someone.
The Daily Star reports that fears were sparked when a plug was found to have been wired in a manner that could have delivered a fatal electric shock.
The plug was attached to a heater, and it seems that while some people on the set think the damage was done by someone who innocently tried to repair the plug, others suspect it was done deliberately.
The paper states, “The culprit has not been identified and nobody at the Manchester-based soap knows why the appliance was tampered with…”
Following the incident, a memo from the show’s head of production, Robbie Sandison, was apparently sent to all cast and crew members, warning, “Most seriously, all the wires in the plug were connected to the wrong pins.
“The flex had been cut back with all the wires trimmed to length and the cord grip correctly clamped to the outer sheath so there was no outward sign of anything wrong.
“We don’t know when the reconnection was carried out or by whom.
“Luckily the supply was protected by a residual current device.
“However, not all the sockets are protected by RCDs and this could have resulted in one of us receiving a potentially fatal electric shock.”
An on site source told the paper, “Luckily no-one was hurt but it’s been an eye-opener and everyone is now being much more careful.”
And a spokesman for the soap added, “The memo was for health and safety purposes to advise people that if they find a faulty plug to tell production and not attempt to fix it themselves.”
Oo that’s kinda creepy isn’t it?!
