Coronation Street: Craig Charles Offered Three Year Contract

Coronation Street actor, Craig Charles has been offered a new three year contract with the show.
Craig, who plays Lloyd Mullaney on the ITV soap opera was suspended last year after the tabloids reported on his drink and drug problems, however Craig is said to have gotten his life back on track and Corrie bosses believe he is an integral character on the show.
“I’m delighted. Corrie is a great place to work and there are some fantastic storylines being lined up for me,” Craig revealed. “Life is good right now – I’m a very happy man.”
A Street source told The People: “He has worked really hard and proved himself. There were no doubts about offering a longer contract.”

I’ve just come back from Manchester for a weeks break. The first ‘holiday’ I’ve had since the 80s.
All I’ve done since May 2002 is look after my husband (he died of cancer in October 2004) and then his mum, my best friend, who died in January 2008.
I’m 55 years old and I cant think of one person who has ever helped me in my life.
I’ve got to sell the home I brought my two children up in because I had to look after Ian and Eunice.
The whole of my life has been one long load of misery and if I’d have been sitting next to Craig Charles the time he was photographed taking drugs I’d have asked him if he’dshare some with me because I’ve never harmed a person in my life, I havent had a life, but the difference between Craig Charles and me is he’s famous and I’m a no body. He’s given all the help and support when he had everything going for him. A brilliant career, a brilliant wife and lovely children and all my life has been one long survival, for what?lkI’m not pretty or gifted, all I know is how to look after other people. I used to think one day someone will look after me but I gave up thinking that a long time ago.
The one and only person to show any compassion was Chris Barrie who wrote to me when I wrote to his agent when I found out Ian had cancer because Ian loved his *massive* shows. I’ve bobought all of his DVD’s but havent been able to watch them because I want to turn to Ian and say “thats how you explain engineering to people who dont know the first thing about it.” And then I remember he isnt with me anymore.
As for Manchester people, Coronation street it aint!
