Coronation Street: Elizabeth Tan admits Xin will have a ‘really big storyline!’

Elizabeth Tan has admitted that her new Coronation Street character Xin will be involved in a ‘big storyline’ soon after appearing in Weatherfield.

The Chinese girl shows up for a reunion with her old pal Tina Mcintyre and she will be seen in upcoming episodes moving in with the brunette beauty and her boyfriend Graeme.

Teasing her time on Coronation Street, Elizabeth told the ITV soap’s official website:

“Has she got secrets? Well, you’ll have to watch to find out – we’re expecting a really big storyline that I think is going to have everyone gripped to their television, and that’s all I can say.”

Tan added:

“She’s really struggling a lot at the moment.

“She’s got lots of problems that she’s dealing with and she’s trying to be strong about them.

“She has graduated in psychiatric nursing but she hasn’t been able to find a job.

“She’s also got problems with her flat and her landlord, but Tina and Graeme are helping her resolve the issues she has.

“But she’s always up for a laugh, she’s quite a funny character which is really fun to play.”"

The 25-year-old has previously landed roles in Hustle, Doctor Who and Hotel Babylon but confessed that she was elated to be offered a job on the ‘iconic’ soap this year.

She added: “I was very excited to be offered a role on Coronation Street because it’s such an iconic show with such a lot of talented actors.”
