Coronation Street filming halted amid real-life ruckus!
While filming scenes for forthcoming episodes, Digital Spy reports that stars Samia Smith and Alison King – who play Maria and Carla Connor – had to take a break while a row between a householder and some builders took place.
Apparently, while Samia and Carla were filming an on-location scene, a group of builders arrived at a nearby house and began digging up the driveway in an apparent dispute over a bill.
DS adds, “Five police cars quickly arrived on the scene in Monton, Salford.”
A witness to the fracas said, “It could have been a scene from Corrie itself…
“The builders and the owner were kicking off. It looked like it could get pretty nasty.
“The Corrie girls had to stop and just sat on the pavement with their scripts, watching the action unfold.
“I don’t think they were too pleased to be honest. It was a while before they could start filming again.”
Police officers reportedly calmed the situation and advised the warring parties to settle the matter in civil court.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said, “This was a civil dispute between the home owner and the builders and not a police matter.”
