Coronation Street: Frank Foster will be murdered! But whodunit?!

by Lynn Connolly

It’s been reported today by the Daily Mirror that rapist Frank Foster – who is of course played by Andrew Lancel – will be murdered, sparking a Weatherfield whodunit.

And it seems Kevin Webster is firmly in the frame given his bitterness over the fact that his ex-wife Sally (Sally Dynevor) is embroiled in a romance with the evil businessman.

However, on the subject of Kevin being a suspect in the murder, the paper also reports that several members of the cast thought it “cruel” that Michael Le Vell, who of course plays Kevin, had to film scenes in which he’s arrested…

As you’re most likely aware, earlier this year, an unnamed woman accused Le Vell of raping her when she was a child. It’s a charge Le Vell vehemently denies.

A Corrie source told the Daily Mirror, “The cast think that making Michael do these scenes is particularly cruel.

“It seems inconceivable these storylines can’t be rewritten considering the situation he is in.

“We’re being told the murder storyline must continue – it has too many knock-on effects to change now.”

However, getting back to Frank’s murder, although nobody at Corrie would confirm the storyline, a spokesperson said that Frank’s plotline “had to run to its conclusion.”

But in addition to Kevin, there are of course lots of other suspects, including Carla Connor (Alison King) and Maria Connor (Samia Smith). As fans will know, Frank raped Carla and attempted to rape Maria.

And Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) will also be on the suspects list, given he’s in love with Carla. It has been rumoured recently that he’s set to leave his wife Leanne (Jane Danson) for Carla.

However, Peter wants to watch it that he doesn’t end up dead! Most of Carla’s men seem to…

Her first husband Paul Connor (Sean Gallagher) died, then the love of her life Liam (Rob James Collier) was murdered by her then husband Tony Gordon (Gray O’Brien) who also later died. And now Frank…

Yep, sleep with one eye open Peter!
