Coronation Street: Jack Loses £3000 Betting Slip

Jack Duckworth is gutted when, on the day of Vera’s funeral he realises he has won £3000 on a bet he placed, but can’t find the slip anywhere.

The long suffering husband becomes convinced that the slip has ended up in Vera’s cremation outfit, but he couldn’t be more wrong.

Predictably, Jack’s scehming grandson Paul has found the slip and paid bookie Dan Mason £1000, not to tell Jack.

However the plan goes wrong when Dan’s dad Harry finds out about the swindle and forces Dan to reimburse Jack. Paul refuses to part with his share of the cash, he tells Dan: “We had a deal, so the money stays with me.

“If you say a word to Jack, I’ll be straight on to the betting authorities.”

But he is soon completely out of his depth.

An insider told The Daily Star: “At best, Paul can expect a vicious beating from Dan’s henchmen unless he gives back the money.”
