Coronation Street actor, Jack P Shepherd has revealed that children in the street are terrified of him because of the evil character he plays on screen.

“I’ve scared a few children in shops just by looking at them,” Jack (who plays David Platt) told the Sunday Mirror. “I look down at them, and I don’t even say anything, and they cry. It’s really embarrassing and I always apologise to the mum.

“I’ve had kids hide in supermarkets and it’s worse when mums stop me in the street and ask to take a photo of me with their children. I bend down to put my arm round them and the kid just runs away.”
