Towards the middle of the month, Tony, when confronted by Maria, confesses that he strangled Jed with Carla’s negligee. A horrified Maria eventually runs out of the factory and tells anyone who’ll listen what happened to Jed, but they all just become more convinced that Maria’s lost her marbles.

Also, Sophie Webster has a big secret to tell her parents – she’s pregnant! But as they struggle to cope with the news, Sophie has yet another confession to make…

Elsewhere, Steve’s ‘bad boyfriend’ plot comes to a head and Michelle finds out about his affair, so she leaves him. Becky meanwhile has rekindled her love affair with Jason and so has to tell Steve she’s not interested anymore.
