Coronation Street actor, Graeme Hawley, has revealed that despite being arrested next week on the soap for the kidnap of Rosie Webster, his character John Stape will be back on our screens in the new year.

Speaking to Inside Soap, he said: “His case will go to trial, so we’ll see what happens. There’s more of a story to tell with John because he’s not a typical villain – he’s a good person who did a very bad thing.

“It’d be interesting to see if he can prove that he’s not really a psycho, or whether he’ll just continue screwing up his life. I think John’s redeemable – the romantic side of me would like to see him forgiven.”

He added: “But maybe it’d be best to just go down in a blaze of glory.”
