Former Coronation Street star, Johnny Briggs, has admitted that he would love to return to the soap in a Dallas like comeback.

Johnny said he would love to do a Bobby Ewing, or else return as the long lost evil twin brother of the late Mike Baldwin.

Johnny told The Daily Star: “Why not – I think it could work.

“It worked in Dallas where he came out of the shower as someone else. I would do something like that, definitely.”

Johnny added: “I do miss it – I miss the camaraderie backstage. It honestly is like one huge family. Everyone just gets on so well.

“Talk about ageism on TV is silly – there is no sell-by date on a good actor.

“But I don’t really regret leaving when I remember how hard it was. To be honest the hours were getting longer and longer.

“It got to the point where I just thought: ‘I don’t want to be carried out of here on a stretcher’.”

A source said: “Johnny was a hugely popular figure in Corrie among viewers and his co-stars.”
