Coronation Street’s Julie Hesmondhalgh AKA Hayley Cropper has approached Corrie bosses and asked for some time off from the soap.

Julie has cited exhaustion as her reason for the year long break, and the desire to spend more time with husband Ian Kershaw and their six-year-old daughter Martha.

“Julie approached producers about taking some time off and they were more than happy to agree because she’s worked so hard for the show,” a Corrie insider told the paper.
