We all know of course that Father Christmas is a dab hand at dishing out surprises on Christmas Eve…

And for Katy Armstrong (Georgia May Foote) and her boyfriend Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) he’s going to deliver a very special gift; a baby boy!

However, as Chesney is stuck miles away from Weatherfield when Katy goes into labour, he’ll have a Planes, Trains and Automobiles-esque dash to get back to Coronation Street in time to see his son born.

But fear not, for according to the Daily Mail – who carried the picture on the left today – Ches does make it in time to see little Joseph Brown enter the world.

When their baby’s born, Ches tells Katy, “I can’t believe it. We’ve got a son. Our son, my son. I love you so much.”

And little Joseph will share his birthday with a number of the Street’s residents, such as Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) and David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) who were born at Christmas in 1990…

Christmas 1998 saw Judy Mallett (Gaynor Faye) give birth to twins, but she sadly died a few weeks later and her husband moved away from the Street with the babies.
