Corrie star Natalie Gumede has revealed that her character, Kirsty Soames, will stop at nothing to keep Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) and to that end, Kirsty is set to become “just plain evil” according to a Corrie insider.
Speaking to Inside Soap about her character and her storylines, which of course feature Kirsty’s feud with Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan), Natalie said, “If you think Kirsty is bad now, you won’t believe what’s in store.
“She’s nowhere near done with poor Tyrone!”
As we saw in last night’s episodes, Tyrone learned that he’s going to be a dad when a doctor at the hospital – where Kirsty was taken after her car crash with Tina – revealed that she’s pregnant.
And as Tyrone explained to Tommy Duckworth (Chris Fountain) a family is all Ty’s ever wanted, so, determined to make it work, he asked Kirsty to move back in with him, and will soon propose to her.
Of that storyline, a Corrie spokesperson said, “Now that she’s got him trapped, Kirsty will be utterly determined to hang on to Tyrone.
“That means she’s going to get even worse…
“The viewers, like her nemesis Tina, know all about Kirsty’s true character and there’ll be plenty of drama down the road as Kirsty turns from spiteful to [just] plain evil.”
But back to Natalie, and via her ITV blog, she revealed that she loved filming the dramatic car crash scenes.
She wrote, “I loved seeing how the driving scene was shot, especially as Kirsty is chasing Tyrone’s car in her patrol car.
“As the car was rigged up, the actors didn’t actually drive it, they just had their hands on the wheel, so there wasn’t too much to concentrate on!
“Alan and Michelle were towed around the streets of Trafford while I followed, un-towed, driving a police patrol car behind. I even got to turn on my blue flashing lights!!”
“For the crash, although I would have loved to try it myself, Amanda, my stunt double, took over.
“Alan, Michelle, and I stood at the side of the street and gasped (well, I shrieked) as Amanda drove the patrol car straight into the back of Tyrone’s car.”
Natalie went on to reveal that her stunt double had to don a rather large wig in order to ensure she looked as much like Kirsty as possible.
Of that, Natalie wrote, “I have an awful lot of [hair] so my bun is pretty big, and her hair has to look like mine!
“The hair looks like it is made of cotton wool from a distance, or maybe a local poodle just had a trim, but either way, it is made to look realistic!”
Tune into next week’s episodes to see just how quickly Kirsty alienates Tyrone from his friends! Yikes.
