Coronation Street: Kym Marsh returns to work after maternity leave
Kym Marsh is to return to work on the cobbles today.
The Coronation Street actress has had almost a year at home, as doctors forced her to take early maternity leave when she fell pregnant in 2010.
Having previously lost a son, Archie, the year before, Kym vowed to be extra careful during her recent pregnancy and her daughter Polly was born prematurely five months ago and weighed only 4lb 1oz.
However, Marsh is now ready to step back into the role of Michelle Connor and returns to the set of the ITV soap this morning.
She will jump straight into a huge storyline, as her character is due to marry Ciaran McCarthy – Keith Duff – later this year.
Michelle’s first scenes will air in November and a Corrie spokesman told The Sun:
“We’re delighted to welcome Kym back.”
