Coronation Street actress, Michelle Keegan, has publicly denied the reports that she has rekindled a relationship with her ex after splitting up with The Wanted’s Max George!

Keegan, who began dating George in December 2010, was pictured at with her ex, Brad Howard, who she dated from 2008 until 2010, at V Festival, in Staffordshire, prompting reports they were back together.

However the soap star, who broke off her engagement to George earlier this year, has said that she was just hanging out with him on a strict friends-only basis.

A representative for Keegan told MailOnline: “Michelle and Brad are not dating. They are just friends and Michelle is completely single.”

Keegan, who once described Brad as ‘incredibly romantic’, was seen out parting with a large group of friends in a VIP area of the festival along with her Howard.

A source close to the pair told MailOnline: “Michelle and Brad are not really close friends but they are mates.

“There was no animosity when they split up and remained on good speaking terms.”

Taking matters into her own hands Keegan took to social networking site, Twitter, to make sure her fans were not left with any doubt over her relationship status, tweeting: ‘Surely people are gonna get bored of making up incorrect story’s about my life.Can’t get seen talking to any1 without speculation!

‘Whatever anyway, it’s just annoying that I have to put out a tweet to ‘put the story straight’ … How about u just don’t make things up?’

Elsewhere, Max George is reportedly licking his wounds after his offer of reconciliation was turned down by the actress, who has been awarded 4 times for sexiest female at the British Soap Awards.

A source told the Mirror newspaper: “He’s gutted. She has got on with her life and left Max to pick up the pieces.

Last week a friend of Keegan’s told MailOnline: “Michelle is definitely not considering getting back together with Max. They haven’t been speaking every night, it’s definitely over.”
