Coronation Street actress, Michelle Keegan has took the ITV soap by storm this year and in return has been rewarded with a twelve month contract for the show.

Michelle joined the show as Tina McIntyre last year and has since been involved with many of the soaps major storylines. There is more of the same to come, as Michelle signed a five figure deal guaranteeing her at least another year on the street.

Michelle said: “My contract has been renewed for another year and I am thrilled to bits. My career has taken off.

“I’ve got a lot of juicy storylines coming up and I’m looking forward to the challenge.

“When I first heard about my character I thought she was going to be someone you either love or hate, but viewers seem to have taken to her. I don’t know whether they feel sorry for her because she is with David Platt!”

Michelle has quickly made a name for herself on the show, winning a string of top awards including best newcomer at last year’s British Soap Awards.

A Corrie insider told The Daily Star: “Michelle has done a fantastic job since her character was introduced.

“It is not easy establishing yourself as a regular cast member but she has done just that.

“She is a very talented actress and is really popular among the Corrie fans. We have big plans and there are some fantastic storylines coming up for her in the next 12 months.”
