Catherine Tyldseley has admitted that while she was incredibly “nervous” about working alongside former Eastenders actress Michelle Collins, she and her Coronation Street co-star have now ended up as the best of friends.

The 27-year-old actress has taken on the role of Collin’s on screen daughter, Eva Price, on the ITV soap, and explained that the pair ‘clicked tsraight away’ when they started work on set.

She said: “I was really nervous about working with her because I grew up watching her play Cindy Beale in ‘EastEnders’.

“She’s absolutely brilliant though and we got on like a house on fire. I felt like we clicked straight away.”

Catherine was also pleased to get the chance to work with “big sister” Katherine Kelly – who plays Becky McDonald – again after previously starring together in ‘No Angels’.

She said in an interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper: “TV was all very new to me so Kat took me under her wing. She’s like my big sister – and a lot of people says we look alike.

“Now for me to be in ‘Coronation Street’ alongside my friend is just amazing. Everyone loves ‘Coronation Street’ in our family so they are al absolutely thrilled.”
