Coronation Street: Peacocks and Websters Swap Houses
A house swap is on the cards in Corrie, as the Peacocks and the Websters decide to make a move.
The Websters need more room for their two teenage daughters, and the Peacocks just need to claw back some money as their business begins to go under. However, in soap land things never go to plan and this move sparks yet another street feud!
After the couples agree to sell their houses without the aid of an estate agent Sally hears Claire calling the her home “a slum”, and she is furious! She declares: “I suppose you’ll be getting the bulldozers in when you move. After all, you won’t want to live in a slum, will you?”
The two women almost come to blows, and Sally pulls out of the deal.
Eventually Claire comes to her senses but decides that the time has come to formalise matters:
“This has become too personal and nasty. I realise now that trying to cut out the middleman to save money was stupid, and all we’re doing is arguing.
“I’m sick of it, and I’ve now instructed someone to sell it for us. So if you want to buy our house you’ll have to speak to my agent.”
An insider revealed to the Daily Star: “The house deal will eventually go through.
“And having new houses will give both families a chance to develop with fresh storylines.”
