Coronation Street’s Chris Gascoyne has admitted that Peter Barlow will be heartbroken when he discovers that his wife had an affair.

The actor told What’s On TV that he will find the news ‘very difficult’ because he is so happy at the moment.

“It would be very very difficult for him,” Gascoyne explained.

“He loves Leanne and it would break his heart. He’s really happy with his life with her at the moment.”

Asked if Peter and Leanne will be able to work things out, he added:

“I think it’s 50/50. Peter fancies Carla, yet he resisted her because he loves Leanne. He’ll be bitterly disappointed that Leanne couldn’t do the same.”
