Ryan Connor has had a rough few years. Since moving to Coronation Street he has lost his only two uncles and been forced to move out of his home when his mum and Steve MacDonald broke up. Just as he gets a new girlfriend and things start looking up there is another cloud on the horizon.

Ben Thompson who plays Ryan told MSN: “It begins with a teen sex scenario, but obviously Ryan being 17 and Sian being 15, that causes a bit of a problem.”

He continued: “Sian feels pressured into having sex with Ryan because of the presence of a girl at Ryan’s gigs who has loose morals.”

The girl – Tamsin Beasely – adds her number into Ryan’s phone next Friday, leaving Sian feeling even more insecure.

“Obviously she feels slightly pressured by that,” explained Ben. “Then because Ryan is such a lovely boy, he doesn’t pressure her into having sex with him.”

The trouble begins when Vinnie, Sian’s father, gets the wrong end of the stick at the end of this month.

“There’s a misunderstanding with Sian’s dad, because she has condoms in her bag,” explains Ben. “Her dad finds them and thinks they’ve had sex, and then threatens to batter Ryan.”
