Coronation Street’s Kevin Webster will have a lot to feel guilty about when he finds out that his wife, Sally, is facing a battle with the dreaded C.

As he has been playing away from home with young Molly Dobbs, Sally has discovered a lump on her breast, which is then diagnosed as cancer. Kevin faces a difficult choice between his family and his mistress but which will he choose?

Actress Sally Whittaker, who plays Sally, has described the time that she found a lump in her own breast.

She said: “I was lucky it proved to be nothing but the time spent waiting for results was agonising.”

She now raises cash for cancer charities and is a patron for The Genesis Appeal.

Sally added: “I am determined to do this storyline justice for all the women out there who are going through what Sally is.”
