Coronation Street actress, Tina O’Brien, revealed earlier this year that she would soon be leaving the ITV soap opera that made her famous. She hoped her character, Sarah Platt, wouldn’t be killed off and it seems she was right.
Sarah is set to leave the street in a rage this autumn as she finds out that fiance, Jason Grimshaw doesn’t actually want to marry her. She lets the wedding go ahead as planned and then unleashes her fury at the altar.
A soap insider told The Daily Star: “It’s going to be an emotional blockbuster that will have fans gripped. They will know early on that Jason’s heart is not in the wedding but he still goes through with it.”
They added: “Sarah-Louise is devastated when she discovers the truth but decides she won’t get mad, she’ll get even. She’ll prove she’s not pushover and once the damage is done, she’ll leave everyone else to pick up the pieces.”
