There are busy times ahead for the Websters as we move ever nearer to Christmas, but their festive season is set to be marred by sadness and anger…
The anger will come to a head when, on the day of her wedding to Sian Powers (Sacha Parkinson) Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) breaks down and reveals that she’s in love with Amber Kalirai (Nikki Patel).
Unsurprisingly, Sian isn’t terribly impressed with this news, or with being ditched at the altar, and she’ll flee Weatherfield a heartbroken girl.
However, when Sophie goes to see Amber to tell her that she’s in love with her, a horrified Amber will tell her that their kiss and recent closeness means nothing more to her than “a laugh”, which understandably cuts Sophie to the quick…
They have a row, which spills out onto the Street, and it’s during a shouting match that Sophie will ‘out’ Amber, who is mortified that now the whole Street thinks she’s gay, while she swears she isn’t.
A show insider told the Daily Star, “[Amber] can’t believe Sophie’s dropped her in it.
“Amber is straight – she’s not confused like Sophie’s claiming.
“It creates a massive headache for her because her dad is far from happy.”
While all that’s going on for Sophie, her mum Sally (Sally Dynevor) is busy falling for the charms of Frank Foster (Andrew Lancel) which is something that Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) is horrified by…
Frank of course raped Carla Connor (Alison King) and, fearing her mum could be his next victim, Rosie enlists the help of boyfriend Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) to spy on Frank.
According to The Sun, when their sleuthing gets them nowhere, Rosie decides they must confront Frank and warn him off, but Jason’s not so sure that’s the way forward…
However, as Frank is due to be murdered over Christmas, they won’t have to worry about Sally falling into his clutches for long!
But of course, Frank’s death put an exceedingly unwelcome spotlight on Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) who’s arrested on suspicion of killing the knicker boss!
Yikes, not many Silent Nights on the way for the Websters this Christmas then!
