Just when things were looking inevitably bleak for fiery red head, Fiz Stape, her murder charge story line is set to make a dramatic u-turn in up and coming episodes of the ITV soap.
With one murder charge being increased to three in as many days, Fiz Stape’s (Jennie McAlpine) suspended sentence for fraudulently posing as Colin Fishwick’s wife for financial gain does not have the desired effect it would have for most, as it seems her and daughter Hope’s, future is indefinitely behind bars.
Fiz, who posed as the wife of Colin Fishwick to claim the inheritance from Colin’s dead mum, Joy, after her husband, John (Graeme Hawley) had been using his identity in a bid to remain a teacher. Little did she know at the time that the real Colin Fishwick was already dead at the hands of her psychotic husband, as was his mother and that of an ex colleague too.
Whilst the story came to a head, John made a bid for escape, leaving Fiz to take the blame and face the music behind bars, for crimes that she had no involvement with, or even knowledge of.
As is the Soap land way, very rrely do we see someone get a way with a serious crime, or indeed see someone take the full blame and punishment for someone elses, so it was only a matter of time before this storyline could be wrapped up neatly and filed.
And now we know how that will be.
According to the Daily Star, John will return to the street after Fiz has been found guilty of, and sentenced for, the murders he has committed, and as he struggles to cope with what he has done, he loses his grip of reality and decides to kidnap Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) again.
Whilst being pursued by Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) in a high speed car chase, Stape loses control of his car causing the fatal accident that loses him his life.
Once in hospital, and faced with the news that he will not survive his injuries, Stape finally confesses to police his involvement in all three deaths, clearing his wife’s name, giving her good grounds for appeal.
The latest plot rumours remain unconfirmed by Coronation Street bosses, but Graeme Hawley has been spotted filming with the soap in the past week in time for Fiz’s trial.
