Coronation Street Spoilers: Leanne Barlow and Nick Tilsley reignite their romance!

Nick Tilsley and Leanne Barlow are about to rekindle their Corrie romance, which began back in 1997 when Leanne was Leanne Battersby and Nick was played by Adam Rickitt; Ben Price of course plays him now.

However, they divorced in 1999, and a heart broken Nick bogged off to Canada, only to return briefly in 2002 and 2004 before coming back to the cobbles permanently in 2010.

And it was in October 2010 that Leanne (Jane Danson) had an affair with Nick ahead of her marriage to Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne).

Peter of course later revealed – on his and Leanne’s wedding day – that he knew all about the affair, leaving the bride-to-be distraught as Peter told her it was over between them…

However, after the horrific events of the tram crash in December 2010, in which Peter nearly died, he and Leanne married in the hospital, as at the time, nobody expected Peter to live and his dying wish was to wed Leanne.

But of course, he did survive, and now, Peter’s with Carla Connor (Alison King) and Leanne is single again, but not for long as she once again falls for Nick.

For his part, Nick’s never really stopped loving Leanne, and he was devastated when she ended their affair in 2010 and told him it was Peter that she loved.

Their latest attempt at renewing their romance comes after Leanne’s half-sister Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) begs Leanne to try to persuade Nick to go out with her again, but romancing Eva is the last thing on Nick’s mind…

A Corrie insider told the Daily Star, “This love square has been going on for so long it was only a matter of time before Leanne fell into Nick’s arms.

“She ended their steamy affair to marry Peter because he was the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.

“So when he ran off and set up home with love rival Carla Connor it wasn’t going to be long before Nick started to make his moves.

“His relationship with Eva is over and he wants to get back with half-sister Leanne. It’s going to be a steamy summer.”

We’ll see Leanne and Nick begin their new love with a kiss, which can be seen on ITV1 on June 25.
