Coronation Street Spoilers: Carla Connor will attempt suicide!

by Lynn Connolly

Coming up on Coronation Street, Carla Connor – who’s played by Alison King – will take an overdose of sleeping pills in a bid to end it all after being raped by her evil fiancé Frank Foster (Andrew Lancel).

And as if that wasn’t bad enough, Carla’s also going to be subjected to a tirade of abuse from Leanne Barlow (Jane Danson), who thinks she’s having an affair with her husband Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne).

Leanne is reportedly “furious” when she hears from Frank that Peter kept it a secret that it was Carla mowed down Leanne’s mum Stella Price (Michelle Collins) while drink-driving after her engagement party.

Jane explained, “Frank tells Leanne that Peter knew all about him covering for Carla after the crash. This is a major betrayal…

“Her mother, Stella, was almost killed in the accident – yet Peter kept his huge secret from her.

“She’s furious when she finds Peter there. But at the same time, Leanne’s not surprised by any of it.

“Carla can’t taken any more after that. She’s crippled with grief as it is, so to have Leanne shouting the odds is too much for her to bear.

“Peter does all he can to convince Leanne that she’s wrong about him and Carla, and that he only lied about the accident for Simon’s sake.

“Meanwhile, Carla’s got the police calling round again, asking even more questions.”

So when Carla finally cracks, she attempts to kill herself, but Leanne and Peter rush to her house in an attempt to save her life.

Jane added to Inside Soap magazine, “Carla’s back on the booze again – really heavily this time – and then she picks up her sleeping pills.

“She calls Peter and slurs a goodbye but it’s Leanne who answers.

“Realising what’s going on, Peter dials 999 immediately and both of them race round to Carla’s flat to try to help her.

“Now that Carla’s tried to end her life, Leanne reckons Peter should take a step back and let the professionals deal with the situation – if Carla survives, of course.”
