Eileen Grimshaw just launches from one bad situation to the next and in the new year, things are not set to change for the Coronation Street resident.

Eileen has a bit of a fling with the hunky fireman earlier this year, but put a stop on it when she discovered that he is still married. However his wife Lesley has early onset Alzheimers and in January, when her carer quits leaving Paul unable to work, she offers to take on the role.

The Daily Star reports that the former cab office worker feels bad when she finds out that Paul is being forced to quit his job and offers to take on the role of looking after his wife while he is out.

The storyline is expected to be a long running one, with plenty of emotions and unrequited love…..poor Eileen, why can’t she just have an uncomplicated relation ship for once?

An Alzheimer’s charity recently praised Coronation Street bosses and the actors involved for raising the profile of the disease and for making viewers aware that it can strike outside old age.
