Coronation Street star Gray O’Brien, has praised how the crew handled Tony’s heart attack scenes and promised that they will look realistic.

O’Brien told PA that to make the heart attack look real, he first researched the sbject horoughly.

He commented: “There’s always a danger that we’ll do something that will look a bit comedic. It’s a difficult thing to play when you don’t understand. I think we’ve got away with it very nicely, the way we’ve shot it.”

The 41-year-old also admitted that he is very health conscious and works hard at being healthy.

“I do try to keep myself fit and look after myself,” O’Brien explained. “And I’ve had so many friends in recent years my age just going zap. I think we just live in this ridiculously stress-ridden life and we all work so hard and try and squeeze so much in and get to the gym four times a week and it takes its toll – I am very conscious of keeping myself fit.”

He added: “Also, this is my living and I’ve got to look after myself, just like the girls do.”
