Fans of Coronation Street will of course know that when Sophie Webster made a move on her physiotherapist Jenna Kamara, and the pair kissed, Jenna actively reciprocated the smooch…
However, when Sophie’s dad Kevin (Michael Le Vell) walked in on the pair and saw them kissing, he immediately went on the offensive and told Jenna he was going to report her to her superiors at the hospital for her inappropriate conduct with his daughter.
Sophie (Brooke Vincent) was of course mortified with her dad’s behavior, and angrily retorted that he was only making the threat because Jenna rebuffed his clumsy advances some weeks before…
But nonetheless, Kevin did indeed report Jenna, and she now faces a disciplinary hearing over the incident.
However, it’s left her with a dilemma because she of course knows she didn’t pull away when Sophie kissed her, but in order to keep her job, that’s what she must tell the tribunal about what happened.
But as we reported recently, Sophie will tell Jenna that she’s going to give evidence at the tribunal and claim that she instigated the kiss and that it was not reciprocated. But will Jenna let Sophie lie for her in order to save her much-loved career?
Well, that remains to be seen, however, while speaking via the show’s official website, Krissi Bohn, who plays Jenna – and who’s also starred in Law & Order UK – revealed that she hopes Jenna and Sophie can salvage a long lasting relationship out of their current messy situation.
She said, “I’d quite like everything Jenna’s been through to be for a reason rather than this all happen and them not get together.
“It would be nice to see a proper relationship happen between them, even despite the age gap, it’s interesting and different to the relationship that Sophie had with Sian.”
However, she added, “At the time of coming out of the tribunal, Jenna’s main concerns are sorting out her career and sorting out her family.
“I don’t think she’s got the head space for a relationship after everything that’s happened.
“She’s finding it very difficult. Her job is her passion – it’s the one thing she’s worked so hard for her whole life, her mum is so proud of her and she’s really struggling with the thought of losing it all.
“She wants to save her job, but she doesn’t know what to do yet.
“She’s torn because she does have feelings for Sophie, but she’s desperate to keep her job.
“Ultimately it’s only when she goes in through the doors that she decides what to do.”
We’ll find out next week how the tribunal goes, but for now, here’s a sneak peek look at tomorrow night’s episode, which will see Kirsty putting her dastardly plan for revenge into motion…
